Covid and Kyrie killed the dream. Covid and Harden apathy killed the dream. Durant commited. He is not happy he did but fact is he extended his deal.

Defense matters and Simmons has yet to shake the rust. Kyrie from what I have read has his sights on Lakerland.
Seems Nets might be able to get some value out of Kyrie. I don’t know how Suns can get Durant and not break up its team. It lacks depth as it is currently constructed. I’d think Ayton, Crowder and a third teams first round pick (Lands say 8-12th) might work. Stay respectable and build off that.

As for Kyrie, if they can get Lakers 1st round pick down the road that might mitigate the pain of future.
I don’t know how they get there.

I think Oklahoma City counts as a small market. He was only there for 8 years

Good catch, I had bookmarked that same exact clip.

It's stuff like that that Hart will perhaps know and see that Mitch will not. Mitch has taken a step for sure this year, he is locked in more so than in previous years but IMO he will never get to the recognition level like this. Same with on the offensive side of things. I hope I am wrong.

Yeah. Heck, KD keeps himself in shape and the Nets still couldn't find a deal they thought was acceptable.

Free agency and the money was very different for these guys than what Jordan had. bulls could pay him 30-33mil per.
Top money then for a FA was about 18mm if going to new team for Jordan and Ewing era. Now, its different for players who are willing to risk injury for freedom.

For durant, Lebron and others it was about empowerment and ability to move and choose where they wanted to play. The "superfriends" was unavoidable consequence.
The league post expansion era now has about 25% players outside of US. The parity of league and players is incredible. Many good teams and good players.
Maybe next generation like Giannis does not move about as good situation and getting paid can co-exist. GSW built thru draft and they likley forfeited one or two by making trades for picks and looking to extend this run with Wiseman, Wiggins, Pool and kuminga. Brilliant actually!!!!

Pat Riley was the executive of the Heat I recall and Durant was not the GM of the Warriors and the Thunder. Durant is now trying to play GM in Brooklyn and tried to get the head coach he handpicked fired after getting the previous head coach who made Brooklyn a “cool” destination fired


Lebron wanted Shabazz Napier and engineered the Kevin Love debacle trade. And now he’s sitting in a dumpster fire ditto for KD

I didn't and I hope this keeps up. Sexton has been a bit disappointing. I actually wanted the Knicks to grab him a few years back. Lauri has been a straight up beast.
