![]() Love this pick up. I was down on the Knicks off season movements but this definitely answered our PG issues, imo.

I still wanted Kemba- I wanted to trade for him when the Celtics were shopping him but fact is he’s very injury prone |

The difference is that we don't have to rush Luca and McBride into any chaotic situations. We can expect that at least one of Rose or Kemba will be available for most of the season. The ideal situation is that McBride, Luca or IQ prove their playmaking chops enough that the Knicks can load manage Rose and Kemba into the postseason. Elfrid, and I'm not trying to crap on him, was such a negative for most of the season that the Knicks had no choice but to burn Derrick out. I think Luca could be a 60 cent/$1 version of Jose Calder (prime Calderon) and eat some quality minutes once he's acclimated. McBride, at the very least, can eat minutes with physical defense. At the very least, he's 5 fouls. I'm hopeful that IQ shakes the sophomore slump and shows overall improvement. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.

Rats… and have Thibs and Johnnie Bryant working with him. I don’t think he could be in a better position as a young player. You know I gonna spin wit it

![]() Man, this is by the far the best offseason we have had since we signed Amare. With one move Rose turn a "meh" offseason, into an A+ offseason. I wonder if he already knew Kemba was thinking about doing a buyout. If so, then the guy is a genius and we are in good hands going forward.

![]() At 8mm he is low risk so if it don’t work out no big problem.
The talent is there. Perhaps there is an opporntinity he rests/rehabs and we don’t see him until January and they bring him along slow. There is a reality that he might need some at age 31 come to reality moment where he has to make some changes (if he is not rehabbing or eating great), etc. This might not be great, but it can’t be a disaster. |

![]() At 8mm as opposed to 35mm, there's not the pressure to be playing to a max contract. To me it opens up the idea that Kemba can come to terms with reduced minutes, a different sort of role and preserve his career for longer- similar conceptually to what Rose has bought into, but maybe on a lesser scale. By all accounts he has always brought a very positive attitude to the court and is beloved by teammates. I think this is a good space for IQ to learn from a couple of great scorers while developing his game. Might make sense for the Knicks to give Rose/Kemba some off days on back to back games (maybe rotate the one who plays). Aside from IQ, hopefully Vildoza and McBride emerge as playable depth.
