If the Clips offered Blake for Melo, you have to take the deal based on age and potential alone. It doesn't solve the guard issues, but Blake is already a better player than Melo and he's 5 years younger.

Woj saying the Bulls are aggressively shopping Pau.

The Chicago Bulls are aggressively shopping All-Star forward Pau Gasol, league sources told The Vertical.

Gasol, 35, can opt out of his contract this summer and become an unrestricted free agent, and Bulls general manager Gar Forman seems determined to move him before Thursday's trade deadline with the hope of bringing back value.

Wonder if we might see MCW for Rubio? Or something involving Teague?

That would make a lot of sense.

Though with Noah injured, it'd also kind of seem like Chicago was waving the flag on this season.

Are the TWolves the team that keeps being linked to Plumlee? If so maybe a bigger deal happens between these teams

Interesting. Yeah, maybe. I have a feeling that is why it is quiet right now - teams trying to arrange big complicated deals.

Windhorst downplays it. I think Wojo has better connections but Windhorst is legitimate as well.

Keven Martin not a good choice for Knicks = another inconsistent Afflalo
Lance Stevenson is a better choice need to be given a 28 minute role at helping PG push the ball.
The reason Fisher kept running a 3 guard and 4 guard lineup so much was to take pressure off of Calderon n Afflalo on offense plus their lack of defense needed big help.

Lance Stevenson is a SG .. Lance Thomas is a SG .. Gallo is a combo-guard .. Grant is a combo-guard
No we dont need Afflalo or Calderon on the Knicks roster (trade Afflalo for Stevenson defensive prowness).
What we were suppose to go after in the 2015 offseason were a legit experience starter PG (Rondo/Charmers/Ty Lawson), especially if we were going to keep Calderon for the 2015-16 season.
The signing of Afflalo in the offseason added nothing to the team, especially when the 17 win Knicks were in dire need of a experience starter PG to replace Calderon to make the 2015-16 playoffs.

Our Guard problem took a lot of playing time away from our big men Lopez O'Quinn Serafin at the C/F position.
The lineup of KP D.Will Melo is a poor-poor big man lineup, and the Calderon Afflalo guard tandem are a poor-poor tandem to depend on offense/defense that has produce a 1-11 record in our last 12 games.

We need to stop thinking OFFENSIVE-players n silly 3 point shooting players, and start playing NBA-basketball

Dang. I know that it has been mentioned already before but I just checked NBADraft.net and Boston has 3 1st round picks and 5 2nd round picks.

I am going to be really surprised if they don't make a trade before the trade deadline.

I agree to an extent. Griffin is the more valuable piece because of his age. Not sure he's better. But as easily as it will eventually be to plug different types of players around KP because of his versatility, i have to say that Blake is one of the worst fits you can put alongside him. He's going to demand all the touches in the spots we need KP to develop, and KP will really have to work defensively moreso than with most other players. On both ends of the floor, Blake's presence will make things more difficult for KP.

I disagree. Blake and CP3 have redudant skillsets, but CP3 dominates the ball in LA. Blake is an excellent passer for a big man and Porzingis' versatile offensive skillset would create proper spacing for both of them, which is something that the Blake/Jordan tandem doesn't have in L.A. Porzingis still has to improve his footwork defensively but his length can already protect the rim. Plus Blake is young enough where you'll get some overlap of their primes.

Phil likes Gasol in a big way. Even at 35 he would overspend. Perhaps Lopez Gasol makes sense and that would be before Blake Melo Summer negotiations. So KP / Gasol / Blake up front with OQuinn backing it up with Hernangomez. That's also before we sign a Free agent. Gasol and KP (and either Blake or Melo) would lure FAs to NY. I'd like Olapido and Batum would bring a young dynamic backcourt with Gallo and Grant backing up. Pinch me.

Last year it was super quiet until like 45 minutes to go and then the trades flooded in and it seemed like every PG in the league got traded.

NBA TRADE RUMORS 2016
Blakely: Celtics have emerged as a favorite for Hawks' Al Horford
By Bobby Manning  @RealBobManning on Feb 17, 2016, 4:20p 67

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports
The veteran big man is a player the Celtics have been connected to for over a week now, and would be a great fit in Boston's system.

 TWEET SHARE (8) PIN
Al Horford may be the best fit for the Celtics should they want to add to their team with less than 24 hours to go until the trade deadline. A two-way veteran who seemingly fits right in with Brad Stevens' pace and space philosophy, he both fits a need on the interior and would be right up with Isaiah Thomas immediately as the team's most purely talented player.

As of Wednesday afternoon, it appears that the rumors connecting Horford to Boston now have some probable cause behind them with CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely reporting that Boston is a top possible landing spot for Atlanta's center:

The Atlanta Hawks have not made a decision on whether they will trade Al Horford but a league source tells CSNNE.com that the Boston Celtics have emerged as one of the favorites to land him if the Hawks decide to part ways with the veteran forward.

The crucial question surrounding Horford isn't whether or not he'd fit and help the team, that's almost an assurance, but he is in the final season of a five-year, $60-million deal and will be heading into free agency bonanza with the cap boom coming up this summer.

I wrote yesterday there's no deal out there that warrants Boston giving up their coveted 2016 Brooklyn pick, that's the case here as well, but there are plenty of other assets that could be at play should the Hawks want to get something for him before his contract expires at year's end.

With Thomas and Horford buddying up at the All-Star Game on the court and some loose reports stating that "a player" told I.T. he would enjoy the idea of playing in Boston, many have assumed that this is the deal that makes the most sense for Boston all-around. If he does indeed want to be here, the chance of him signing with the C's would be better if he was in-house than if he stays in Atlanta through the contract expiration or is sent elsewhere by 3pm tomorrow.

Talking with Blakely in Toronto, Horford seemed prepared for anything this week:

For me, I ask for guidance but at the end of the day I understand the business of everything...I know how everything works. For me, I need to stay diligent, keep doing what I do and whatever happens, happens.

The wheels are beginning to turn towards some action for the C's, but for the moment talk is cheap. We'll see if it turns into action by Thursday afternoon.

Horford is averaging 15.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 55 games shooting an effective 55% from the field and 34% outside. His 19.91 player efficiency rating is 44th among NBA players.
