Once playoff time comes coaches and players are scrutinized and praised for their efforts. Here are a couple game 1 observations I made:

Wiz vs drakes
- wizards need to play pierce more at the three. There's absolutely no way Gooden should get as many shot attempts as pierce.
- James johnson needs to play coach casey. His defense is needed

Warriors vs New Orleans
- The Pelicans defense has been a weakness all yr. Asik (regressed) and Anderson are the bigs and they cant guard anyone - especially when the warriors go small (they often played green at center)
- Unibrow looked tentative and nervous but still finished with a quiet 35pts. smh. lol.

Bucks vs Chicago
- If Rose keeps it up then the East conference has a problem in chicago. What a backcourt! Mirotic is a stretch 4 - not a 3.
- People were predicting that the Greek Freak will be AMAZING - i wont take him seriously until he learns how to shoot a basketball

Dallas vs Rockets
- houston bench > mavs bench. Dwight looked like Superman dwight (despite not playing many mins due to foul trouble).
- Dallas has to outscore their opponents because they suck on defense. If parsons and ellis struggle, they have no chance

Cavs vs Celtics
- bad coaching moves by Stevens. Why was IT4 guarding kyrie - thats for smart and bradley. why was turner guarding lebron - thats for crowder. I dont care how many meaningless triple doubles turner has: hes not a good player
- Kyrie is pretty good. Hes a shooting guard in a PG body (like iverson). He's best when all he has to do is focus on scoring - the opposite of Lebron

Brooklyn vs Hawks
- nice effort by the nets but they simply suck on defense. why did earl clark have as many shot attempts as lopez. I know lopez is overrated and slow but i dont know why Hollins hates this guy as much
- some cause for concern for the hawks - horford and millsap are injured. Teague is starting to revert into Turnover Teague again.

Portland vs Memphis
- complete mismatch: portland doesnt have the wings so they relied on bigs. Ironically memphis often went small with green at the 4. Kaman, leonard, Lopez and Alridge couldnt keep up. Lilliard was awful especially when they beat him up in the lane
- nice game by udrih and more importantly conley.

San Antonio vs Clippers (didnt watch)
- all i noticed was the clippers bench (besides crawford) only played 31 mins. Doc simply doesnt trust his short bench. meanwhile 11 spurs played over 10 mins for san antonio. Pop will make adjustments (play mills more; not play splitter as much - not healthy yet; play bonner more than baynes)

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Aldridge's shot selection is putrid.

he has a 40 point effort in game 1 last playoffs, and completely folded for the rest of the series. He look very suspect again last night

Because he couldn't guard a chair..

And Felton's defense was better? I think what Crush said is the case.

By miles...But the reason Felton was ahead of him was the offense, drive and kick...Beno only calls his own number...

He had good games with us as well..He doesn't do it night in and night out..But everyone knew at the time he had to go...With us, he scored 10 but gave it up on the defensive end...I didn't understand why Portland didn't go at him on the other end, that's what teams did to us...

Completely untrue- Did you watch that series last year? He dominated throughout and was (Along with Lillard) the reason he and his 'inefficient' ways beat the Rockets with all their efficiency and metrics.

He came into camp fat, like felton and played like crap. I wanted Be no to thrive, but he failed us with poor conditioning and horrible defense. Glad he was able to rebound in Memphis.

the blazers didn't win so much as the rockets lost-- you can hang that series loss on harden who clearly lost his mind, and mchale, who could not right the ship.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Pelicans couldn't figure out the pick and roll last game, you think Kerr might try it in this game?

In the NBA you're never really that far off. Most teams win with their top 6 carrying the load. That means you really are never that far off since there are so few players you have to acquire to make a significant difference. The Knicks could look like a completely different team next year. Just adding their Draft Pick and 3 quality Free Agents will make a huge difference. It's gonna be interesting to watch how this transpires.

The Bucks have a nice thing going tho. Love their length and athletic ability, but they really aren't the most skilled group. Kidd has them playing to their strengths and they get after it on D.

Just because you don't like a player, it doesn't mean you can't acknowledge when they play well. Blazers won that series- it was a great win for them, no need to pretend that they just happened to be there.

If Mosgov can keep up anywhere near this level--its all over for the rest of the NBA.
