lol. he will fit right in to the circus. he's also going to be 30 next year.

Why has 30 become the new 40 on these boards?!

I wouldn't want Dragic at 30 at the full max at the cost of a draft pick. No f'ing way. This would be a CLASSIC Knick move. If we swap this year's lotto pick Im not sure I can take it. I might finally snap.

All that being said, I like Dragic and getting him for Calderon + THjr would be a total steal. I like the idea of a Dragic/Matthews backcourt next season.

JUST.PLEASE.NO.PICKS!

Dragic is 28 and will be 29 in May and is considered an UFA at the end of this year (Player Option for next year).

Thanks for the correction. I thought he was 29 going on 30.

Its Broussard so not sure how accurate it is.

Why would they give up 2 firsts for a player they could sign in the offseason, who wants to play for them, when neither the Lakers nor the Knicks are giving up even 1 first rounder? They'd be stupid. Sounds like the Suns trying to drive up his price- I bet they are aiming for one first round pick, and the first to blink gets him

well nba's players prime years are usually between 25-31 - especially guards and small forwards. after that, you see a dip.

But they can compensate for athletic decline- smarts, clutch, leadership, etc MJ

That's the exception not the rule. Generally, as the athleticism goes, so does the production.

Fans have a natural instinct to think worst-case scenario here, obviously can't blame them. No reason to think Dragic will slip. Can't predict something like this. It's just a guessing game.

they are in a win now mode and desperately need him.

If you are gonna overpay, that player better complete your team.

Thats a lot for Dragic. They are giving up critical defensive players at the two most important positions. Birdman and Cole. Basically, Miami's trade would improve their offense and decrease their defense.

No way Miami is that stupid. two first round picks! yea right, I mean I hope that deal goes down that would screw Miami and have all there money locked into 3 over 30 players... Again this is a sun smoke screen to see if we up our ofer . Phil is not that stupid ... Nether is Reily

Just for reference Steve Nash won his 2 MVP's at the age of 30 and 31 and continued to play at that level at 32 and 33 with a slight dip at 34-36. He was able to perform at his best from 30-34 and only a slight dip the next 2 years. Not to say everyone can expect that since Nash is rare. Just that it has happened. Nash wasn't really depending on great athletic ability. Just high skill level and BB IQ. Also John Stockton did almost the exact same thing as Nash. Mark Jackson also was able to maintain his level of play above 30. Highly skilled PG's who stay in shape but aren't really relying on pure athletic ability to get by.

My bet is none of the teams are willing to offer a first for dragoc ... And why would any team offer the Suns a first...the Suns are stuck in a bad place, with take it or leave it deals. so it's bird man and cole which don't match or Tim hardaway jr and jose which match..

Wouldn't Riley do that only with the understanding that he'll sign long term with them?

They're gambling that Whiteside is the real deal. McRoberts hasn't really played for them this season anyway, so it's not like they'd miss him that much. Two first rounders is a lot tho. I doubt that's the case. Probably more like two second rounders.
