Yeah, we’ve tried to help our guys understand that the triangle is not this place that we exist in as soon as we touch the basketball,” Fisher said. “When we play solid defense, get rebounds and get steals, we want to run the floor and take advantage of things that we can early and then we settle into our offensive format after that.

“But there are ways that we get in and out of it that just gives a defense a different look,” Fisher added. “And it obviously gives the broadcasters a different look so I guess it is working well so far.”

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

I think the Turnovers hurt the momentum.

From a reddit live thread:

Per Hornets PR, MKG will miss the rest of the game and is currently getting a CT scan. Hope he is okay.

Nobody was hating on Melo. It was obvious that when the team's flow stopped during the 2nd quarter it coincided with consecutive possessions where Melo pounded the rock and didn't pass back out. He has done fine otherwise, but people are watching the game and see the nuances more clearly when the team goes from crisp ball movement to a stalled offense. Melo is ideal when he participates and scores. He is only OK when he does not. That's not hate. It is what numerous people saw and agreed on.

Anyone can make an negative point about Melo true or not and you will find numerous people on this forum to agree on. Game 3 of the season!!

WTF are you talking about? Talking about player performance during the game is no different for Melo than any other player. They do some things well and sometimes they don't. People talk about that during game threads and you're the only one stirring up trouble telling people they haters which is baby talk. Stick to analyzing the game and not pointing fingers and whining about agendas. Nobody was hating on anything. There was a lot of good stuff in this game and if you weren't so focused on labeling posters you would have noticed that myself and others who were discussing Melo also had many positive posts about things the Knicks did this game so far.

anyone else wonders why Stephenson hasn't been called for 3-4 offensive fouls for using his off arm to clear defenders off him. It's clear as day to see but no called.

WTF are you talking about? Just cause you don't think I can do something doesn't mean I am not going to. You can stick to doing whatever you want.

he does tend to go back to old habits but he is doing much better. won't change overnight

I remember Kobe and MJ doing the same time to time...that's when the coach needs to call that timeout and call it out. Looks like Fisher did just that.

our $124mil "leader"

Whatever works i guess

I've given up on the concept of Melo as leader. He's as Pavlovian a player as JR. Basically, the leadership starts with the Coach, who then gets the collective output to influence a player like Melo to play the game right. Melo will go along with the team if the team will is strong and cohesive. But forget about Melo being the one who establishes anything first. He's really either a hero or a follower, but not a leader. Which is fine now if Fish gets his way.

Typically, when fans analyze games, its usually on the offensive end. Charlottes run didn't have much to do with two possessions where you claim Melo pounded the rock more than your liking. The Hornets scored 29 pts in the second quarter with a lot of baskets going towards the rim with Daly being in the bench...The game is played on both sides of the court.

Notice how he shifts things to Amare. Dont make any comments on Melo, bashing Amare is fine tho.

Yes, the game is played on both sides of the court. We had a poor stretch on both ends.

bad sub from Fisher. It is obvious Amare can not defend Al. I would have gone with Cole.

nixluva wrote:Al Jeff is such a tough post player. It's crazy how effective he is in the post.

He uses his length very well, pretty much unstoppable from 10 feet out.

I commented earlier he's the best low post scorer

In the game, when fans say silly stuff like

Melo is just as good as Durant because

Melo has a low post game and Durant doesn't, I just laugh

A low post game is defined by Al Jefferson

It probably ends there too

Just a precious artifact in this league

His game is archaic but nevertheless highly effective and creates

The best chances of converting from an efficient standpoint

His career TS% is 53 ... not elite. He needs to get many more FT attempts (3.5 is not gonna cut it).

Compare him to other top bigs and his TS lags.

Still a really good/excellent post player.

I could care less about his TS

I care how good he converts in the paint

Where taking shots in the paint are the high % shots

As of now he's putting a clinic

His game should be packaged on DVDs and sold on infomercials

50% FG player for his career and probably 10ft and in 60% or better
