Other than Hubie Brown (and Clyde), I can't think of anyone I'd rather listen to.

Did you know that Bernard King was "like a swooping bird" on the fastbreak?

Nope. But it doesn't rub me wrong the way it does you. What's wrong with that exactly?

nice regular-season win. i get the resting of garnett-- you have to have him ready for the playoffs. i expected boston to keep it close but they look gassed.

i really like that jr is getting to the line lately but only 1 assist? is this a guy who can make plays in the playoffs?

melo 10-30 in yet another masturbatory exercise. i am not fooled.

two guys taking 60% of the shots and two assists between them. felton invisible.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Nothing, I think we have a misunderstanding. I was just making a joke, I have nothing against Hubie Brown, the man to which the quote belongs. I wasn't being serious, I actually like the description.

2 assist between them because they took 60% of the shots. If you have to shoot you're not looking to pass. Either way I'm happy with a 15 point WIN.

Whoops. Hadn't heard that one, Dagger. Hubie is my favorite, but Bernard is before my time.

He's before my time too, I just think that quote is pretty funny when read in Hubie's voice.

Agreed, Breen is AWFUL. Dont know how people like him. He should just move to Miami and get a job at AA Arena. It would make both him and us happier. The Heat get him excited, while he takes every opportunity to sneak in constant jabs at the knicks.

I want my announcers to say what's going on. I don't need them to fluff the Knicks up more than they need to. Breen is outstanding at this. My only criticism is he praises the refs too much but to be honest, we could be educated about them now and then anyway. They are a part of the game too afterall.

They won by forcing a crapload of turnovers and getting steals. They held the C's to over 20 less shots than they took. JR played smart and in control offensively. They put forth a tremendous team effort tonight. I'll take it.

check the statsheet for the game:

the fast break points and points off of turnovers was a total wash, 28-27.

the celtics did not play at the pace their coach wanted them to, so the shots were much fewer than they should have been. that's why they took fewer shots-- nothing to do with knick defense. rest assured with a great passing big man like garnett their halfcourt offense would have been more effective. rivers knew they had to push the pace in order to make a game of it but his players did not respond.

Woody has done a good job refocusing the Knicks. They aren't healthy, but the way they're winning is with simple defensive BB. The team had gotten away from that for a long time.

I did. And I watched the game. The Knicks forced A LOT of turnovers. They went after loose balls. They played a scrappy game. They played the passing lanes well. I know what I saw. But thanks for the insight.

And I can't say I care who was missing for the Celtics when the Knicks have a had a ridiculous share of injuries this year as well. That part is a total wash. Especially since the Knicks have already beaten the C's at TD Garden with KG suited up.

The injury situation is pretty much a wash. Still too much iso, but the assist totals aren't going to be there when the outside shooters don't do their job.

Knicks did a good job of setting the tempo and not letting the celtics run. The Celtics won the fast break points but that doesn't mean anything because the Knicks literally didn't run off turnovers, but forced double the turnovers they committed and crashed the boards to keep Boston from upping the tempo. Then they took fouls when Boston tried to run.

Because they weren't sinking the first chances!

Melo really is a beast, I didn't expect to see him this mobile this quick. Yea these squads are all broke up. I like this win a lot: firstly because I haven't seen many games let alone wins this season — catsitting at a friend's for cable access, that's diehard!

Secondly because of what others are talking about: they were ACTIVE. I was doubtful about the K-Mart talk around here but I think he's providing some much needed energy this half of the season. They couldn't buy a bucket for a while but hung in there, got their hands on loose balls, sticking with defensive assignments and helping on D, Kidd coaching on the floor. I'll take this win!

I hate the check the stats versus watch the game. Watch the game and you shouldn't need to check the stat sheet to explain what you saw happen.
