Might be best to go iso-Melo until Felton gets back

I still don't understand why Woodson hasn't looked to get more post touches for Amar'e. It's like IF it happens it's almost by accident. That and so far i've seen one curl play for Novak!!! There are plays that we run that are successful but there's no effort to keep working those plays until teams show they can stop them. That's what I miss. There's no specific base for our attack. So you end up with a lot of bad 3's or forced ISO plays.

not pretty but its that or JR shooting 3's. I vote the former unless we can come up with something else.

Habits set in though and if not broken it will be extremely hard to win a playoff series playing under such tough competitive circumstances.

The weak side needs to start cutting off of the post. Brewer used to do it but he couldn't score and would pass out. Amar'e is good at it. But the players need to move without the ball. That's on Woody too. I haven't watch much but does Melo need to run more PnR with Chandler and STAT?

Someone mentioned Melo's shooting numbers...they're just falling back to his career averages. He's about a 45-46% shooter for his career. He takes a lot of threes nowadays and shoots well from that area so I don't have a problem with that. He can be streaky, so he's not going to necessarily have Durant/Bron kind of percentages.

I think this would have happened with or w/o Felton, although Ray did help him get better looks at the basket. I think he should come off more screens instead of the ISO stuff. Melo is deadly off of a screen. Woody needs to utilize them more for him.

Offense looked better last year with Davis and Bibby running point. When knicks and Woodson went 18-6

Same when Lin ran it and we went 9-1 but last year is last year I guess.

Yep. That's not to say ISO Melo can't get it going, but whenever Chandler sets him a screen we're getting good looks, either for Melo, for someone under the basket, or someone behind the 3 point line.

The offense looked better under the combined efforts of Felton and Kidd. I think we'll be okay once Felton returns. We are suffering right now as we have no real playmaker in the lineup, nobody to penetrate and get good shots for the three point shooters. It's just relentless chucking and ISOball for Melo & JR. Not a recipe for success on O.
