One major issue with Dantoni and some one the Lakers players like Howard, Kobe, gasol and artest is they like to play defense and Dantoni doesn't want to slow the game down.

D'antoni should have made sure Pau did not develop tendinitis. He also should have been able to fix Dwight's back for him.

I get it now, if somehow MDA demonstrates further alienation tendancies with another player,
then Melo is obsolved of his sins?

Wow!

what exactly doe Homers stand to gain from this? IS melo up for sainthood? Vetting for a seat on the Supreme court?

You guys are that desporate for a hero?

it is absolutely amazing.... i have never seen a fan base root for the failure of 5 players and a coach to validate and hero worship one guy..... I thought if you like someone, you like them and didn't need others to fail to justify why you like them....

I think a lot people black out on Pau if it wasn't for him and probably Artest Kobe doesn't have another ring. Pau was huge in their second title run

When Grant Hill was on the Suns he was quoted in an interview about D'Antoni's practices as saying sometimes the team even practiced for 45 minutes. D'Antoni is a joke. I remember when he buried guys in NY and posters would say things about how the guy mustn't be producing in practice. That is hard to do when you barely practice. It stinks for Gasol and Lakers fans. Losing a guy that good because the new coach already can't adapt to his players is ridiculous.

TKF, Im not in total agreement with you and prefer to let Melo's play speak for itself and being a knick fan let him grow his cred based on play on the court. I will say he has improved the last two seaons and has been playing to a level he makes those around him better!

That said the relentant defense of his career and subsequent quickness to throw a knick under the bus like Lin,Gallo, MDA, etc has been baffleing to me.

Today I had an ephiphony of sorts. This deserves its own thread, hey, even its own website! I cracked the "Homer starphucher Code"!!!!

Melo is homer fans golden calf! Melo is Mooby!!

All that rise up to strick down Melo/Mooby shall be "good riddance"!
All hail "Mooby"!

I could care about Melo. What he said was messed up. This is about a rigid guy who doesn't do the work it takes to make a team successful. D'Antoni is creating the same drama in LA that he did in NY. He has a very talented roster and it still isn't enough.

Use references for quotes if you want to be taken serious please.

Now we are fans and friends of the Lakers? Are you really that concerned about the phucking Lakers?

Melo really that important to worship?

This where all the "Believe" crap comes from?

Do you believe in Mooby? Is the MeloMOthership coming to take us away only if we "Believe"?

Old man Nalod is at it again...stirring up the pot. Even worse, now he has a sidekick!!

It seems like fans from both sides of the Melo fence (with the exception of TkF..obviously) are starting to notice a trend on how MDA treats certain players...I think only NewYorkNewYork & 3G are the only two really bringing Melo into the convo...but I guess Nalod has nothing better to do in his old age.

Do I smell another "manifesto"?

No, its two weeks he has been coach. this is about something else.

Most homers are glad the lakers are messed up. But, as I said, if MDA messes up another team that makes Melo free!!!!!

Tell me, what difference does it make? WE get some kind of emotional refund? Like "Oh, I thought I was going crazy!!! And I thought Dolan was a dipShyt! But no, its MDA!!!!!

Nobody but TKF is comparing Melo to Lehman Brothers!

No. I spent almost 4 years pointing out how flawed the guy and his approach were. Biggest mistake of Walsh's tenure was hiring the guy and trying to make it work. His struggles in LA are similar to struggles he had in NY. Not about Melo. About the most inept coach in the NBA.

That stench you smell is the stale arguement that exists for years.

Nalod is consistant: Let the records stand for themselves.

1. Melo took one team as lead dog to ECF. The rest he is a one round failure.

But he took his team to the playoffs!!!

2. MDA had a bad run here for two reasons:

A: His rosters sucked and not did not respond because....
B: he is Ridgid with his offensive scheme.

Anyone have an problems with either points?

I mean really, Melo is a high volume shooter who is statistically gifted. So freaking what, thats what he has been.

ANd MDA is rigid sticking to what he does very very well with the right personel.

The rest is just a waste of time.

TKF, jsut realize this is a house of Mooby worship and they homeristic tendancy will be to idolize him.

To the same end, homers have to man up and just accept Melos past to some degree and love him for who hs is!

NO, its about Mooby. Really, the first two years he was here his rosters were pretty inept. He had Marbury for goodness sake. Year three started pretty good with Amare and Yoots. The depleted roster had no depth. Its not Melos fault. With a balanced roster one things speaks:

12-4 and ECP of the week or month or what ever. Melo is doing great and so is the team.

MDA if so bad never gets another job.

This is about you trying to be right. Lets see how the Lakes two in the next few months. Mooby is doing just fine under woodson.
Isn't this whats its about? Basketball or Crush's personal agenda to discredit MDA?

Let's just all agree that MDA wasn't a fit for "tanking" and wasn't a fit for the roster we ended up having when we used the resources we acquired while tanking for cap space and assets.

The situation he came into in LA wasn't ideal obviously, but they should be able to turn it around. The HEAT had similar troubles the first season they had with the 3 amigos assembled.

Actually Dantoni is the perfect coach for tanking. Problem is the Knicks never keep their draft picks and when they do they royally screw up the pick

I don't really get this...when we hard a healthy starting 5 of Lin, Fields, Melo, Amare, Tyson and D'antoni as our coach, we went on a pretty bad losing streak. Woodson then inherits the same team and does much better.

The spike in effort level from Melo at that coaching change was a little startling. I mean is MDA that bad/Woodson that good to create almost a night and day change in Melo's effort level? I mean we all saw the games.

We needed the coaching change, definitely, but who should you blame for Melo dogging it?
