I don't think anyone reported this, but I called this when his name came up:

George Hill will sign a 5-year deal with Indiana on July 11.

I think you are right. I can't imagine the nets would put themselves in that position knowingly

Rockets swingman Courtney Lee is now an unrestricted free agent after Rockets withdraw his QO

I hope we make a play BIG TIME

I like the idea of Lee, he is what he is. Nothing flashy or spectacular, but he's definitely more of a true shooting guard compared to Fields.

The Rockets have come to terms with Jeremy Lin on an offer sheet. Specific terms of the deal have not been released. As of July 11th, the Knicks will have 3 days to match offer. The report indicates that Houston can make a 4-year, $40 million contract offer to Lin where the final 2 years would be worth $15 million per season.
Ironically, the Rockets had waived Lin at the end of training camp in December to make room on the roster for Samuel Dalembert.

the max contract Lin can be offered BY ANY TEAM is 4yr/$36M. so this report is definitely off.

If the Nets get Howard, they'll be a top 4 team in the east. If they don't, they will be a .400 to .450 team.

Sounds reasonable to me. Without Howard they're a tough team but definitely not contenders, with Howard they're really scary and should be close to Miami and OKC.

You really think they're a tough team? They were .333 last year and the only major change is getting JJ. To be a tough team I take it you're assuming JJ alone adds .200 or .300 to their winning percentage. I don't see it.

When I say tough I don't mean good. More like Philly and Milwaukee were tough last year. I guess I should add the Knicks as well to that list.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

So that's basically JJ alone adding 200 to their winning percentage. Unless Deron returns to Utah form, I think the current Nets' roster will be tough like Portland and Minnesota!

If they go out and get a good 4 and re-sign Lopez, this team could be where the Hawks were last season, Minimum, which was better than the Knicks.
