san antonio did the draft and stash for scola and manu ginobili late in the second round. sometimes it's one of the only ways to get actual talent. jury is out. just unexciting, unfortunately.

keep calm peoples. i have deep knowledge of the greece and kostas nickelau is considered the michael jordan of greece!

it's not like this DJO character will come back to haunt us like Rajon Rondo or anything. That's totally not going to happen...

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

DJO is still on the board after 51 picks. maybe the knicks can invite him to summer league?

they can't buy any picks. if they really wanted DJO, they would've taken him. sigh shrug.

riiiight, but if they really wanted DJO... they'd have drafted him, right?

i think a lot of teams are stashing euro talent rather than take a flier on a player they don't like. there have been like 5 euros in a row selected.

that's what the more constrictive cap will mean. the lower class draft picks are gonna get screwed.

there will be tons of american kids who are pretty good who go undrafted hanging around to get signed in summer league.

looking like the knicks could bring in DJO and/or machado to summer league

Goodness gracious. This better not be passing up ron artest for weis. Machado & odom were right there under our nose. If it adds any comfort they may go undrafted. I giess they will stash this guy. Apparently you cant taje #48 too seriously

True but San Antonio has a long history of draft luck while as you know the knicks are probably the worst drafting team most of the time lol

The last paragraph from the most recent DraftExpress scouting report:

One of the most mature and polished players in this year's group of automatically eligible international prospects, Papanikolaou is by no means a glamorous player. He may not be an aggressive enough scorer for certain NBA coaches, but his size, defensive prowess, ability to accept and fill an important role, knack for playing low-mistake basketball, and reputation as a winner at every level he's played at make him one of the most intriguing role-playing prospects available in the second round.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Kostas-Papanikolaou-6147/

The guy is far from a perfect player, but seems to have the intangibles. Young but with a mature game. Measures at 6.75 without shoes, but only 6.825 with them- means he was probably wearing sandals. View him as 6.9.

Seems like someone who can get some playing time. If he plays as advertised, he will definitely put pressure on Fields, and may make him expendable at some point.

Also, Knicks probably have 13 players already on the roster id JR comes back and the Lin/Novak case is a win.

exactly. and get a better look at DJO and/or machado in summer league and sign them to a non-guaranteed deal if they show anything.

sucks for the rooks, but that's what's gonna happen with the cap dropping from $58M to $50M after next year.
