What is your best idea for a back up pg?

Do you think Lin is ready to play on a level of basketball we saw the last week?

I think he has potential to but I cannot give you a definite yes or no. He needs to get stronger and have coach that recognize the importance of using a secondary ball handler.

But again what is your best idea?

Well i personally wouldnt use the MLE on kidd i would use the veterans minimum if he wants to accept it. But what would you do holfresh?

+1 on vet minimum for Kidd. I would love to see him orchestrating and telling people where to go on offense and tutoring Lin but think there might be a player with more upside available for MLE

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Bring in a PG who can get Amare 15 to 20 shots a game and who can compete with Miami..Bring Lin off the bench and let him develop..He is essentially a rookie and isn't ready to compete against Miami..The Knicks have a small window and waiting for Lin to develop should not be the gameplan..

And who is this international man of mystery?

Your like a lot of Knick fans. No imagination. You want the sure thing. Give up any youthful assets to get the "NOW" player.

You don't get a Heat killer with 5mm per do you? So how do you beat the Heat?

If Nash won't take the MLE then Felton..No mystery..It's not about giving up on youth, it's about honestly recognizing we have a small window and waiting for one player to develop should not be the gameplan...If Lin is ready he starts, if not come off the bench...Why is this a problem, it's beneath Lin?

What are you asking? Do you want Lin to be Lebron? Because if you're comparing him to a Heat player it should be Chalmers.

I agree I want Nash or Felton, I know it was just one game but Lin's ball handling ability got exposed vs the Heat and I did not like what I saw, we need a vet you can handle the pressure and is also respected by the officials. Knicks need a shooting guard who can shoot as well no more of this Landry parading around as a starting shooting guard that experiment should have died with Dantoni he is a back up small forward at best.

Also, with the money we give to Lin and Novak will mean we may not have an MLE next year just a LLE..Signing some old dude to sit on the bench isn't a sound idea..

I wouldnt say lin needs to get stronger although he clearly will as his body continues to develop but not many pgs get to the rim as successfully as he doea and finish

We cant focus our attentions a handing one player the full mle. No one who is out there is worth it in full except Nash who is 39 and will prob get close to 10mil from phx or a sure fire contender. Use the mle wisely on a pg, sg & pf and the team is 2nd in the east behind miami

Exactly man people need to reasses their perceptions and expectations of what a $5.5mil mle means

No contending team can offer him more than 5 mil everyone is capped out, Only Phoenix and some really bad teams can offer him more, Dallas might be the exception but who knows what direction they are going in.

Felton is not the same player without mda his skill sets are suited for an mda style offense. He is useless on this team. See his tenure with larry brown and nate mcmillan. Kidd has a tone if experience running a halfcourt offense over felton. Loom I was pissed to see felton let go. He really wanted to be here but now is not the time to waste the limited resources you have on a backup pg. And to add to that who knows does much weight he will put on being a few years older

By then Amare's contract wi be a year closer to expiring and we wont have to deal with being over the cap. By all accounts the knicks ade operating on a more responsible level as it pertains to the cap and youth

You see people are infatuated with blaming melo for the cap problems when the truth of the matter is we gave the same contract to amare who is damaged goods and is past his prime while melo is healthy and in his prime
