Health concerns are an issue, which is why the depth with Shump/TD is important. That being said he's not a run/jump guy. Never was. This is not a scenario where Steve Francis breaks a wheel and isnt a good NBA player. [This is correct. It could be a Tracy McGrady, where his kind of good, just isn't good enough. Cept that here, we only pay 1.4M or 2.5m.]

This move could fizzle... every move can, but the piece is the right fit. [and his nickname is Boom Dizzle. Got to love that !]

Davis is the kind of player who will enjoy setting up easy shots as much as making them. You just watch. This is the right pick for this offense. [and his upside is all-star caliber. His downside is IR. We understand the risk. Its worth it]

Honest answers above in bold.

If the 2.5M is still available, need to give consideration to Arenas as a 6th man. I don't mean to 'starphuck' this team, but those kinds of players can fill a bench and may have significant trade value later. I would seriously think about it and get a sense of Gilbert's mindset these days. Especially if Balk can play with some confidence. The practice squad games would be ultra competitive. :)

You know I gonna spin wit it

Perfect signing on BDiddy, more-so now that we know we still have the LLE. Let's get our backup 4 and go to war!

assuming the roster is at 13 with the 2 d-leaguers not guaranteed...we can do both Arenas and a forward

OK, then AK and KMart can split the $2.5M.

Just say no to Gilbert Arenas. Bring in a nice backup PF and/or a veteran spot up shooter.

i'm thinking we could be in the hunt for Posey. We can offer $2.5M, where Boston can only offer $1.4M.

You have heard of photoshop, right?

See you and your back in two months, Baron. Keep that j shiny while we all wonder how Landry will react to you being in the rotation...

No savior role, just a vet min contract who is a MDA type point.

If he is healthy this is a huge addition for us.

I don't understand why people keep saying "if healthy". Don't we already know the answer to this question?

He looks healthy in the picture. No wheelchair, no crutches. No discernible sign of a back brace.
I'm feeling pretty positive about this now.

I think you're right! A source deep inside MSG sent me the original photo!

Knicks still in the chase for Posey with the room.

By the way, I'm told Baron signed for the vet's minimum ($1.4 mil), not the room exception ($2.5 mil). So Knicks still in chase for Posey

crzy, I'm not saying I'm not pleased with the signing. Its low risk. All good. Just saying, I don't expect much from it. I'll be thrilled to be wrong about it, though.

wasn't singling you out - a lot of people earlier in the thread were worried he took the room exception and we wouldn't be able to add another piece. but he took the minimum. thought it was worth mentioning.

I was one of those people who thought he shouldn't take the Room Exception but just the Vet Min so the team could sign another good player - especially at PF. And he did sign just the Vet Min. Maybe he reads this board or maybe he does the Vet Min anyway. But he did it and that move was much better for the team.

And, I was and still am very happy we signed BDiddy at either amt. But happier with the Vet Min.

It's seriously a Knicks Christmas.

Remember LJ had a bad back too and that worked out pretty well for NY. I know its not the same but I am excited.

Plus we still have room to sign others - this is crazy.

Anji wrote:he might not be the "body guard" any more, but BDiddy definitely has the talent to be very successive as the third wheel behind stat and Melo.

All in all, I also believe he is a much better point guard than Billups, specially being 4 years young.

Davis is not as good as Billups as far as playoff experience and making wise decisions with the ball, but he is more of a pure PG than Billups. If he can avoid his tendency to jack up ill-advised 3s, he will probably prove to be more capable than Billups at running the PnRs.

LJ was 27 when he came over to BDiddy's 32.

Just sayin', as they say.
