He had problems with D'Antoni in Phoenix in D'Antoni's last year. He may get to the point where he wants to see the coach work on changing things.

Lots of changes needed, no doubt about that.

how stupid does Mason feel? dude gets a chance at a freebie tech FT and misses. And then misses that WIDE OPEN layup. WOW. terrible luck or something.

Career 85% FT shooter and I think he has missed all 5 of the tech FT attempts he has had as a Knick.

All I know is that Fields is my fav player. Easy. Knicks have a starting SG for the next 10 years if they want.

They better not trade him. He really looks like he will have a nice career.

this loss hurt even more than most..remember unless knicks pick is #1 the rockets have option of switching first rd picks with the knicks and with each knick loss and rocket win the chances are very good that they will..and i hope donnie walsh is the knick rep on lottery day and stern will say "and the 2nd pick in the 2011 draft belongs to the knicks and donnie please switch seats with morrey as that high pick now belongs to the rockets"..and 2012 probably as well...oh the pain

In four+ years I had never seen anyone make Toney Douglas give up no matter what the score was. I saw this for the first time last night. This tells me the team is not on the same page as the coach. Those losses when they had a big lead are what is killing the team. They need to be shown a clear path to success. And it's difficult to see at this point.

A couple wins would be priceless right now.

Man, mine too. I can't understand why they're not running more things through him -- there's plenty of times he's running up and down the court and doesn't even touch the ball. Then all of a sudden the ball finds it's way over to him and more often than not he does something positive...He should be getting more shot attempts & he should be given more responsibility as far as handling the ball and distributing goes (I think you hinted at this the other day somewhere Martin -- Fields can probably deliever the ball to Amar'e better than anyone on the P&R -- the kid's many things and one of those is he's a very good passer -- let Fields try to initiate that play instead of Felton trying to force it in to Amar'e at all the wrong spots and angles -- more often than not, Felton delivers the ball at Amar'e's feet, behind him, etc..meanwhile Fields passes as right on the money)..The kid just has "it," you know? I mean you can see it...If I were the coach and some kid came along that showed he belonged like this kid has and the team was struggling as bad as we are right now, Fields would become more of a focal point. The kid makes good things happen -- it's no fluke, he's a good player. A jewel in a box of marbles..He's gotta get the damn ball more.

The two major adjustments I'd make right now would be:

(1) Get Fields the ball more. A LOT MORE.

(1) Start Anthony Randolph at the 4 and move Amar'e to the C spot -- Just humor me Mike and start Amar'e 5, AR 4 and Gallo 3. I wanna see that configuation at least once before we ever decided to give up on Randolph. Coming into the season I believed that would've been our best frontcourt alignment yet we haven't seen it once, not even in preseason from what I can remember. I know AR has played poorly but he's got no chance of snapping out of this funk the way Mike is using him..Mike is showing no trust & responsibility in him at all and the kid is playing accordingly -- scared with ZERO confidence. He's way too talented to continue playing like that. An adjustment needs to be made..I understand that players need to earn it and in his own way Mike is giving him a shot every game and he's not really doing anything with it but I wouldn't continue on the same course with him. IT'S NOT WORKING! I'd turn around and start this kid and begin to lean on him heavily. I think that might kickstart him. I be banking on him taking the baton and running with it. Right now the piecemeal playing time with Mike shrugging his shoulders everytime the kid makes a mistake (a-la Don Nelson) is not the right approach with this kid specfically (if I were coach, everytime AR made a mistake all he would see out of me is hand-clapping & encouragment, never any negativity. Some players don't respond well at all to negativity -- Psst..Mike..This kid's one of them)..We saw it in GS and we're seeing it here now..Try something different..All I know is that if they don't try something new with this kid soon we're never gonna get the most out of him. It'd be a big shame. He's got the type of skill-set that enables him to have a HUGE IMPACT on games on both ends of the floor if he's right..Right now he's not right though and to me, that's on Mike. He's got to get him right. We're playing terrible ball right now -- shake it up a bit and try something new...I'd start with this..I don't ever wanna look back on Anthony Randolph and say 'man, what if we tried this or that with him.' If I'm D'Antoni, esp. with the way we've been playing, I'd have to know for sure whether or not this kid could help me and play much more of a pivotal role before I ever gave up on him..I'd have to know for sure if he could be part of the solution here..The last thing I'd want to see happen is for the Knicks to give up on him prematurely and then see him blossom somewhere else. I'd be doing everything in my power to get this kid moving in the right direction.

Fields and Gallo were both cutting through the lane a lot in this game, and there were many times when it looked like they should have gotten the ball and did not.

How many open Js did Gallo even have this game. It is the PGs job to get his shooters the ball when they are in position to score. Gallo and Fields should not have to go 1/1 to get a shot off. The SSOL offense is predicated on a PG who can play up tempo ball and get his guys the ball when they are open.

If Felton and Douglas can't play this style, MDA has to make adjustments. Fields and Gallo are actually better running the P&R than Felton and Douglas, IMO, and for all I know, Rautins might also run it better. This is not a good thing.

Time to make some strategic adjustments and tailor the offense to the capabilities of the roster.

If not, we will continue to play this way on offense.

And we really need Turiaf back on the court. Amazing how the defense is different without him out there, and he is also an excellent passer.

Changes have to be made, and quickly.

I don't think it's MDA's system on why we are shooting 3's.

I think it's going to be a team strategy for other teams, to shut down our drives and 2pt shots. And let us shoot our selves in the foot from 3.

If I was playing the knicks, thats my strategy. Shut down STAT, stop their drives....And let them beat us from 3.

We shoot the most 3's, and make the least amount. Eventhough I think MDA is like Mike Martz. Should be an offensive coordinator, and not a head coach. It's also the make up of the team.

To put it simple, we have one guy who can score in the post, no consistent shooters and no PG who can create for others. On top of that....We have a low TEAM IQ. Which hurts us on offense and defense.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

I agree with you on point #1. I think both Fields and Gallo should have the ball more.

#2) AR hasn't shown that he can produce quality minutes off the bench and I wouldn't want to see what he does in starting lineup.

I agree with Finestrg - I want to see the super frontcourt just once:

SF Gallo
PF AR
C Amare

I dunno. At this point nothing is working. Give Randolph 30 minutes and see what he does with it. What's the worst that could happen we lose to the 76ers without Iggy, the Rockets without Yao and Brooks??

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

if it were me, I would focus on Gallo, Amare, Fields and Felton. those guys have the capability to play well. Whether it's Felton and Amare doing the PnR or those other 2 guys helping out in some combination. Break it down to the basics and run it over and over and over until they get it.

let em run.

guys like Mozgov (stupid fouls), Chandler (HORRIBLE shot selection) and TD (ditto) have been allowed to play through their mistakes. just let AR go.
