Maybe it was a wake-up call if the Knicks got too overconfident after beating Chicago on the road and routing the Wizards, but this loss is worse than the Portland one cause we lost at home to one of the bottom 5 teams in the league, and a division rival. We may not have had the same 9-point cushion as we did in Portland, but how we lost was almost the exact same. We just couldn't execute in the last 5 minutes where Philly went on a 16-5 run and amped up their defensive intensity. We also came out flat in the 1st quarter which gave them a good lead to begin with.
correct, there is no such thing as a good loss... people that buy into moral victories have a loser's mentality... good teams win consistently, bad teams don't... right now i wouldn't say we're a bad team, but we lack any consistency to be considered amongst the good teams in the NBA... this team is still young & forming an identity, so this has to be expected, but i scoff at people who take a handful of wins or losses and run with it as if it's indicative of anything other than the tact that until we upgrade our talent, we're not going to be much more than a mediocre team.
