It's a real slow, mellow song. It just happened to come on, I didn't just put it on - but it is good I think 'Land Ho!!" is next - and that is a great freakin' song (It wasn't next.... I haven't listened to The Doors in a while - nice change of pace! |

I was speaking the other day with a friend who played in an earlier band with some of the members of The Doors, before they joined and became The Doors. Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger met at a Transcendental Meditation (TM) lecture along with my friend when they all started meditation. Also, Robbie Krieger had earlier studied classical guitar and Light My Fire has a little opening and closing rift from Bach. Great group. Edit: Corrected by my friend - Ray Manzarek studied some classical and he came up with the opening rift which was from/similar to Bach. The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.

Krieger is pretty underated, imo. The solo in 'You Make Me Real' (the 55 second mark & the 1 minute 55 second mark.....---> |

Nice guitar solo and song.
Just did search on youtube and came up with this short history of Light My Fire and the Doors. I found it very interesting and fun. The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.
