See some people say anything.... Nate would have made a difference!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Nate Lifts Knicks to Big Win Over Spurs

i agree if Nate played like an idiot then we probably don't win, but he's shown in the past he can help us win games, in particular against this team... for MDA to stubbornly refuse to play the guy when we have guys like Hughes & Bender looking like crap & Wilson Chandler not doing much either is pretty selfish if u ask me... at this point MDA is making it a personal issue, this is no longer about dolling out discipline to Nate Robinson... anyone who thinks that is just being a blind homer... how do u justify keeping 1 of your most explosive scorers on the bench during a game where offense was that much in demand? u wanna bring up Nate's lack of defense, i didn't see Bender or Hughes playing much defense either tonight... we needed a burst of energy in this game, it was apparent... some of the guys looked winded & tired down the stretch... Nate could have provided that spark.

i don't say all this cuz i'm a MDA hater or a Nate lover either... i've criticized Nate plenty for his antics in the past & i like MDA as a coach, but sometimes his methods leave me curious to what his real motives are behind the decisions he makes.

nate hurts the defense. but there's got to be a way to work him in for small spurts. we need the offense. we need his penetration.

duhon is pathetic.

if this team had a real point guard, they'd make the playoffs. duhon is just playing well, he's doing the best he can, but the best he can is not good enough.

The thing is that we weren't winning with Nate! Our record is better not playing him. Now we do struggle to score at times but our D is much better and it's keeping us in games. Perhaps MDA will figure out how to work Nate in but it's not so cut n dry as putting Nate in and we all of a sudden play better. MDA has eyes and I'm sure he's considering ALL OPTIONS. We just need to get two of the next 3.

We could have used Douglas' D against Parker, and lets face it, Douglas can drive to the basket as well, or better, than Duhon.

Whatever it is with D'Antoni and Nate - Dantoni is the coach, and he's acting like one - playing the guys he wants to play and benching the guys he doesn't want to play, for whatever reason.

If he'd been coaching for Isiah the GM, he'd be giving roadside interviews & on his way out right about now. I just don't think we're used to a coach who gets to have his way.

all anyone is saying is on a night like tonight when we were lacking for offense & some energy, Nate could have helped... if MDA would stop being so stubborn & start thinking about expanding the rotation it gives him more options.

TMS, its worse than 4 on 5. At least then you wouldn't have somebody blowing like FIVE freaking layups in one game! WTF?! I just can't see what management sees in this guy!!

I was amazed along with MDA at how much love the Spurs got from the crowd. Lots of French and Argentines in the house tonight?

I'm really really impressed with Lee. He was automatic all the way out to 18 feet.

Foul shooting was murder on us. I like that Gallo got to the stripe in the 1st half but all it did was give those old Spurs some breathers.

He has had some good moments over the past 10 games or so. He is just a major liability on offense.

Bad coaching is when you keep a man on the bench who could maybe help this team and you put some one else in who haven't played. Bad coaching is when you see that the shooters on the floor has gone cold and the one person on the bench who might be able to give us some quick fire power just because of a personal situration.

Give them less minutes and lets see if Nate and Curry have learned some discipline and play them.

I agree but that ain't gonna happen. They are on D'Antinos crap list for the rest of the season.

I like fine enough, especially considering our last few coaches, but I agree that the Nate banishment has me scratching my head. I didn't like the way the Marbury situation went down, and I don't like the way this has been playing out. Just seems like bad personnel management to me.

Maybe if they can figure out how to get him to play while seated on Jared Jeffries shoulders we can have the best of both worlds.

Nate Lifts Knicks to Big Win Over Spurs
by Mike Slane, nyknicks.com

Posted Feb 18 2009 1:20 a.m.
New York Knicks 112, San Antonio Spurs 107 (OT)

There were no lime green sneakers or Superman capes in sight. And he didn’t jump off any teammates or over any opposing players. But Nate Robinson somehow found a way to once again steal the spotlight away from one of the league’s elite big men.

In his first game back since bringing the Slam Dunk title back to the Big Apple, the 5-foot-9 guard showed he can do more than just get above the rim as he had another impressive all-around performances in the Knicks’ 112-107 overtime win over Tim Duncan and the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night.

Robinson, who admitted he was a bit fatigued following a busy All-Star weekend, recorded a game-high 32 points and 10 rebounds in front of a sold-out Madison Square Garden crowd. His outstanding effort was an encore to a weeklong stretch that was highlighted by a near triple-double at the L.A. Clippers last Wednesday and a memorable leap above Orlando’s 6-11 center Dwight Howard on Saturday night.

“The fans were great,” said Robinson, who has hit the 30-point plateau in three straight games for the first time in his career. “I felt it the whole day – them screaming and everything about me winning the dunk contest. I do it for the fans and I did it for New York, so they deserve it.”

And the Knicks also deserved a nice victory over one of the league’s top teams following a rough six-game losing streak, which included Portland’s Brandon Roy’s game-winning layup at the buzzer and a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Clippers.

Robinson does not consider himself a go-to guy but he did most of his damage in the second half after what Head Coach Mike D’Antoni called a “jittery” start. His biggest shot of the night came when he split two defenders and tossed in a driving layup to tie the game at 102 with 20 seconds left, and the Knicks played great defense down the stretch.

New York allowed the Spurs to dribble above the 3-point line for nearly 17 seconds before it decided to use its final foul. Duncan missed a turnaround jumper off the inbounds pass with just over a second left.

“We were actually trying to learn from our past mistakes,” said forward David Lee, who recorded his 42nd double-double before fouling out late in regulation.

Robinson scored six points in the extra five-minute session and put the Knicks up for good on a mid-range jumper with 2:31 left. The Knicks won their 22nd game of the season, which is one shy of last year’s total.

“Right now, it’s huge for us,” he said. “It boosts our confidence and prepares us for the next game. On top of that, the last couple of games we should have won, but for the most part we still have our eyes on the prize and make a playoff run.”

Robinson’s big night overshadowed the play of Duncan, who had 26 points and 15 rebounds. And who knows, maybe next season Robinson will being playing in the same game as Duncan during next season’s All-Star weekend in Dallas.

"That's what I'm trying to get to, but for the most part we're just focused on the playoffs now," Robinson said. "Next year will come."

Masud: Don't you get it?? They wouldn't care if Nate scored 40 points a night. They just dont want Nate to play. Now how many games have the Knicks won with out Nate??
