Cooch, you're embarrassing yourself. You've gone crazy that I dare suggest that Douglas can't be a top PG in this league, and now you won't even say that he'll be a better than average PG in this draft? Ain't that some sheeet.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Can we all agree that we need to see TD play a few more games before we declare him a superstar or a bust?

TD, like a certain other recent knick point guard, has polarized our fan base. SIT HIS ASS NOW AND FORCE HIM TO ACCEPT A BUYOUT!!!

The real issue is whether or not Douglas can be a starting PG on a winning team, and perhaps lead that team to some degree of success in the playoffs. If you saw Douglas during most of the pre-season the answer to this would have been no, but now he is showing signs that he may be a lot better than any of us, except for that FSU fan who had watched his college career and saw him "school" Ty Lawson, had anticipated. I still want to see him improve his distributing, but offensively, he is starting to play the kind of game he was known for in college, and the same is true for his defense.

None of us can make any predictions about where he will end up as a player, but he is sending a message that he just may be as good as some of the big PG names that we did not want, or had no chance to pick.

If we had been lucky enough to have Michael Jordan, islesfan would have been criticizing his golf game, gambling habits, or inability to hit a curve ball whenever he had a chance.

Holy crap Cooch. Take it easy. The kid has a friggin' ceiling. That's my opinion. You can believe that he's going to be great, that's fine with me.

If you don't want to see the trend of bigger, better, longer, more athletic PG's that have been and continue to come down the pike then that 's cool too.

You don't have to drink the Kool-Aid to be a fan but if you decide to, great. I wish the best for these Knicks. I happen to think that to get to the top the Knicks need a lead guard that's in the Rondo/Rose/Harris line of lead guards that has been coming into the league. The guys coming in over the next few years are even bigger than those guys.

If Douglas is your guy, hey good for you.

It's not unreasonable to postulate that because he is at a height/length disadvantage to this new generation of guards that he could have issues, in addition to the fact that he can't dunk. The best PG's are scoring their points off of free throws. You cannot score game in and game out shooting jumpers.

No sarcasm, its a nice pickup by Donnie. He'll be our guard off the bench for years. There's nothing wrong with him being that with a pick that low. Nate was drafted a lot higher than Toney and the goal for him was to be a backup guard. Going ape sheet over saying that Toney will be a nice backup guard is misplaced at best.

+1 If Douglas could start and lead the team to more wins than we had last year that would be a big step in the right direction.

I've had my theory about drafting plus length players since before the Gallo draft so I just continue to be disappointed when the Knicks bypass those players be it Derozan, Holiday, McGee or whoever. Seeing the Lakers, Celts and Magic get to the Finals with their crazy mismatches at several positions makes me think that is a direction that we should be looking in.

Hasn't stopped me from watching every rotten game this team has played, or from going to the games, or spending free time blogging about them.

How did this turn into wingspan, height and whatnot? I think everyone on UK agree on Douglas taking the starting job.

Cooch is a hothead and JW likes tall dudes. End of discussion.

Yet the none of the guys Orlando had at PG last year had the length you desire.

If a guy can play the PG position, a few inches should not make a difference, and Douglas is strong enough, with enough defensive quickness, to deal with most larger PGs who would try to take him low.

Would I like Douglas to be an inch or two stronger? Sure.

Do I think he can be a successful PG, all things considered, at his present height? Yup.

The guy might just be a player, and I am really looking forward to watching him develop.

I just wanna say its all about opportunity...cuz if Bayless was in memphis righ tnow instead of Conley he would be a beast.

Teague just happens to be coming up when Mike Bibby seems to be breaking down finally. Craw has been playing PG for them off the bench but Teague has been demanding PT as well...

Ty Lawson has Chancey ahead of him but Karl has had no choice but to play him.

Anyway....our Toney Douglas is on par with the dudes I mentions so far. The only difference is Chis Duhon is the bum thats getting 30 mins ahead of him. If D'antoni is tru to his play your best guys routine...then I think Toney is gonna eventually pass Duhon. I think even when Nate comes back its gonna be even more clear how effective a ball player Toney is cuz of the contagious play. Toney and Nate could be very disruptive on both ends for big chunks.
