Watching the start of the game it was clear the Knicks didn't have the passion they will have to play with this year and they basically just missed open shots. In both cases I wouldn't expect that to be the case all year! This team is gonna play much better than this.
On D they looked ok in the 1st qtr. They moved their feet and made them take tough shots. Honestly I think this is just an early preseason issue. We know this team is potent offensively. Also to those complaining about MDA's offense, if you think it's just about chucking up 3's then u don't know anything about his offense. Just remember too that u still need leadership at the point and Duhon dropped the ball on that count. It's imperative that Duhon plays well cuz TD is gonna need time and Nate is a SG. For us to have a chance to win Duhon must play well.

Nixluva I repeat this is a 3 point chucking team. How many times did they go inside? How many times did they set up real plays? Don't just blame Dohon because when Dohun was playing great at the begining of last year the Knick were still loosing. I agree that Dohon need to stay out of the clubs in New York.
My biggest criticism with MDA is that we don't seem to have any kind of offensive schemes which make use of a guy in the paint getting the ball and being in position to shoot or kick it out. The pick and roll is not an "inside game." I would also like to see some picks that are NOT set for a potential pick and roll, but to free up a guy like Gallinari, Harrington, Nate, etc., for an open midrange jumper.
We don't necessarily have to have a big man camping out in the paint waiting to receive the ball, but it would be nice to see some plays which go through a guy who has fought for position down low and has the option to post up or kick it out. Lee? Darko? Harrington? Hill?? It would be nice to see someone step up in this regard.
If out PG is not driving and finishing (rare for our PGs) or kicking it out to someone open because an opponent player has collapsed to help defend against our PG, we seem to end up with a lot of guys taking jumpers- usually 3 pt shots, seemingly out of desperation.
I am not that worried about guys missing open outside shots at this point, especially guys who you know are going to hit them once they get in stride, but I am concerned that we seem to settle for jumpers without putting in the effort to get our shooters uncontested shots.
