If I'm calculating right, after all is said and done tonight.
1) We pass Indiana and are up a game on them.
2) We're tied with Charlotte.
3) We're 1/2 game behind the Bucks and the Bulls.
4) Depending on what happens tonight, we're either tied with NJ or a game behind. If the Nets win, they are currently occupying the eighth slot.
5) Toronto is further out of the picture - 5 1/2 behind us.

I am not sure about #4 but that sounds about right.

Defense is back

PresIke - when Hughes was booed in The Garden he just smiled. That might have been an indication of his confidence.

I can't help visualizing Marcus Camby with this squad. Damn.

Is Al in the doghouse or something? He's hardly played in crunch time lately.

Poor decision making and turnovers at the end of games. Jeffries also had a nice game tonight.

sloppy game tonight..

nate picked it up in the 4th, got to the line a lot..

Harrington benched, allowed the knicks to have better ball movement

Wilson took over, thanks to Al being on the bench, made big shots..

Gallo struggled a big, life of a rook.. shot 1-5, definately needs to get stronger, that is his biggest problem now. As long as it isn't a skill thing, I am fine with that.. he has plenty of skills, just no strength...

Hughes didn't shoot well, but still defended..

needed win..

^Duhon, DLee and Gallo?

You could see that Gallinari was laboring at times running up the court.

I expect that Richardson is also hurting.

Not using it as a excuse but Lee needs a few days off. Didnt think he would go in detriot but he did. Sprained knee, and strained achilles but everyone has injuries this late just need to a off day tomorrow. NIce win I dont care how ugly it was.

Gallanari 3 points and 2 boards isn't going to cut it. Gallanari can't even post up brian cardinal. Gallanari has a very long way to go he just can't be a permeter shooter on this team. If Gallanari jump shot isn't going like it wasn't going in tonight he needs to do other things. Like I said before there is more to game then shooting like rebounding the basketball. If gallanari is hurt then the knicks should just shut him down because if his back is screwd up then it is not worth further injury his back even more.

Knicks have a better chance of beating the Cavs than they do Boston in the playoffs... could actually be pretty interesting.

The good news is we're only a half game out. The bad news is we're tied with two other teams and two teams are tied a head of us.

8. Milwaukee 23.5 30-38
9. Chicago 23.5 29-37
10. New York 24.0 28-37
11. New Jersey 24.0 28-37
12. Charlotte 24.0 28-37
13. Indiana 25.0 28-37

I still can't believe that we're only a 1/2 game out after losing those games to the Bobcats and the Nets. If we managed to come up with wins in those games we'd be sitting in the driver's seat, 1.5 games ahead. Just goes to show you how bad the teams we're dealing with in this playoff race are.

That's the good news. The bad news is we play Orlando three times and Cleveland once. From a quick glance, the Bulls and the Pacers have the easiest schedules of the teams that are in striking distance of the eighth spot.

When your competition is other bad teams, you're generally going to be able to stay in it since nobody is good enough to pull away.

Let's not pretend that 5-5 in their last 10 is part of some unbelievable playoff push.

Yeah, strange. He didn't look happy on that last time out. That guy is playing for contract he need him some minutes.

he's already signed through next season so he's got plenty of time to worry about that later... i don't blame him for not being happy about some scrub like Fishlips getting minutes over him tho, but for his part Jefferies did a solid job on defense last nite... too bad he can't hit a jumpshot or make a layup without making us all cringe tho.

the race for the #8 seed is more like finding out who wants it less than who wants it more.

Apparently Nate was puking on the sidelines, I personally counted 4 passes to Jeffries which were layups that should have been assists to Nate.
