That movie really didn't do it for me. Boring.

Yeah, I wasn't that impressed. It dragged. Downey Jr was very good though.

Yeah, he was good. Ben Stiller is a good actor, but as far as being funny, he's not really my brand. I can see why other people love him as a comedian though.

He was great in Something About Mary though. That movie never gets old.

I thought the same thing when I first watched it. After about 2 more times seeing it though, I started to really appreciate the subtle humor and the acting job that Downey did.

I liked it. It was kind of slap stick, some really unusual characterizations - especially Downey and Cruise. A very creative comedy.

That movie was really RD Jr's movie. Ben Stiller really isn't a LOL, comic. He is a guy who does humor that makes you say that situation was funny.

If that makes you sense?!?!?!

It makes sense, Anji. The best part of that movie for me was.."How long is this gonna take, I left my uh....::pause:: VITAMINS, at home"

So, Bip's post was only about accepting Gallo or was it about being fair. I am still confuse. If he fails it won't because someone wants him to fail it is because of his own doing or circumstances. That is the way of life in every facet. Whether someone gives him the chance or not, doesn't like him or not. Each man is responsible for his own actions. Same with him, Chandler, Curry, Duhon or anyone else on that team.

wilson doesn't exactly pound the glass either.

5.4 rebs from he sml forward spot isn't bad...

[Edited by - holfresh on 01-19-2009 4:59 PM]

I agree. I think Wilson can be stronger on the boards, and probalby will get stronger with time, but 5.4 isn't something to complain about at that spot.

Devil's advocate here....while Wilson may be a better rebounder and defender, Gallo is by far a better shooter, possibly a better passer and may even be a better shotblocker.

I liked Tropic Thunder overall, but really liked Downey. He was just incredible. I didn't like the vulgarity, but I guess being older you just can't get used to that.

Gallo, Lee and Chan gives me a lot of hope for the future of this team. I like what each of them bring to the table. We haven't yet added that singular stud talent, but I think we have the beginnings of a solid supporting cast.

Gallinari is a better spot up shooter, we don't don't about shooting off the dribble, yet. European players tend to have difficulty doing this because they don't normally face tight man to man defenses in the Euro league, they play against zone defenses. Dirk mentioned that in his NBA piece. Wilson passing has jumped dramatically after talking with D'Antoni. Right now, he is finding Harrington and Lee better than Duhon with less turnovers to show for it but I think Gallo should be the better passer. There is no way he is better shotblocker. LOL, he guess right on a point guard. Unless he averages 2.0 blocks a game (Defensive of the Year lines) than no. Chandler average for his two years at Depaul 1.5 blocks per game playing at the SF/PF position. Right now he is currently creeping to 1 block per game and I suspect that he will get better. Gallinari meanwhile in the Euro league despite his height was acknowledge as a subpar shotblocker which was one of his knocks on draft day along with his rebounding. He is an average to good weak side defender, not good man to man. Scouts said that he lack the hustle to be a good rebounder and shotblocker because he avoids "getting dirty" or contact. Noticable in the 76ers game where he waited to get a steal on Evans vs. trying to get rebound. I think he could steals because he likes to get into passing lanes on guesses but is suspectible to fakes which allows penetrating to get the basket easy.

As far as rebounding for Chandler, there is a correlation to who he is playing with vs. where he is on the court. His rebounding numbers go up dramatically when Lee or Harrington aren't on the court playing in the post. Since he normally plays at the SF spot on the perimeter in D'Antoni system his 5 rebounds are actually very good. Lee happens to be one of the better rebounders in the league. So he would be basically fighting with his teammate for rebounds as they sometimes do.

Now that is a fair assessment based on stats, scouting reports and actual play.

THE ROOSTER is the next Dirk, but MUCH BETTER. YOU WAIT AND SEE. THERE IS NO WAY DIRK WAS DOING WHAT THE ROOSTER just did the other day. Get ready for an NBA MVP award in this kid's career. All the haters will bite their tongues.

Ok, maybe Dirk performed a little better in his first season, but THE ROOSTER is not far behind. If the back mismanagement didn't happen, you would be seeing very similar numbers, but maybe more scoring earlier than dirk. This guy, THE ROOSTER, really showed BRILLIANCE in only his SECOND game in the NBA!
