Would you take a guaranteed Kenny Anderson in the middle of the first round? I would. What's the point of this discussion?

Who is the guaranteed Kenny Anderson? Very few guarantees in the draft. Curry is no guaranteed anything.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I don't really remember Macon, Hurley or Anderson taking a school like Davidson anywhere during their college careers. Curry's court vision and instincts will be apparent soon enough.

Kenny Anderson in his Freshman year led Georgia Tech to the Final Four. Losing to UNLV (go Runnin Rebels!).

Bobby Hurley led Duke to 3 Final Fours and won back to back NCAA Championships.

Mark Macon took Temple to the Sweet 16 as a Freshman and then to the Final 8 as a Junior.

So there ya go. Maybe now you can remember.
Yeah and I don't remember any of those schools being Davidson.

Actually, Mark Macon led his team to the final 8 his freshman year (lost to Duke when Macon went 6-27) from the field. Billy King locked him up in that game. Temple was the number 1 team in the country at the time.

When you say being Davidson, do you mean a cinderalla mid-major team? Each year a mid-major team breaks through to the sweet 16 and sometimes advance as far as the final 8. Gonzaga, E. Michigan '91, George Mason 2005, Wyoming (Fennis Dembo)'87, Rhode Island (Silk Owens) 88'.... and far as I can remember, none of the star players from those teams had any impact in the NBA. Not saying Curry wont, but just because Davidson had a good run last year doesnt mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Obviously, there are no guarantees, though I do think the fact that Dell Curry had a long career in the NBA favors Steph's chances a bit.

i agree about Griffin, the guy looks like a stud... definitely can see the Carlos Boozer comparisons, only w/more skill... that's not what i asked u.

You have to be dominant against your peers to be a high lottery pick IMHO or at a minimum show you can be dominant against your peers. Scoring 1 point against Bowling Green isn't doing that. Demar Derozen-from what I saw against Seton Hall did not resemble a lottery pick--he wasnt even a top 5 player in the game. obviously the seeason just started but guys like Bayless Mayo Gordon etc.. were good from minute 1.

GAME ALERT: St. Mary's featuring Patrick Mills will be AT UTEP on ESPNU starting at 2pm est.

Further, Gonzaga will be on at 9pm est. I'll miss the Zags, but St. Mary's happens well before dinner out here.

Mills is not on the same plain as Curry--but people will have to figure it out for themselves.

Yeah and I don't remember any of those schools being Davidson.

Billy Donovan carried Providence to the Final Four, and his range was superb, I guess he had a great NBA career, right?

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Providence was a Big East school with a much higher profile back then than Davidson has ever had.

You're trying to split hairs. Providence was a Cinderella team riding a great-shooting guard.

So what is your actual point? Because Davidson had a Cinderella run Curry is guaranteed to be a star?

There's no guarantee anyone is going to be a star, but what he did in the tourney and what he's doing now are really impressive.

Trajan Langdon?
God Shamgod?
That arse from Hawaii that took out my Orangemen
Senior 'Stache now riding the pine for Charlotte.
GMac

There are tons of crazy shooters who have been busts or never made it at all.

Then there's
Ray Allen
Gilbert Arenas
The Berry kids
Mike Miller

I mean, there are no guarantees.

The great thing is that this draft will be at least as deep as last year so I don't know how we can lose out.

Jennings, Blake, Curry, Thabeet, Flynn...

As long as there's ten solid picks, I don't see us winning enough games to be out of the top ten picks.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

If he plays his cards right, Curry may have an Eric Murdock-esque career in the NBA.

What about Thunder Dan Majerle? What did he put up in college and where?

Majerle, played at Central Michigan. He averaged over 20 PPG from his sophomore through his senior years. Different era of college basketball though. Much stronger competition overall. Also, Dan Majerle had an unquestionable NBA-ready physique.

I am not saying you are arguing this but that is a big difference between Curry and other players like Johnny Newman, Ron Harper, and Szcerbiak who played at smaller schools and put up big numbers whose playing ability translated well to the NBA.
