Yeah, I know, I was just infuriated to see "Isiah's idiot 1-1 ballhogging standaround chucker and-1 Knicks" show up for the final 17 minutes of the game and nearly blow the lead to one of the worst teams in the entire history of the league.
that's understandable but old habits are hard to break sometimes... this is still a big learning process for all of these guys... what counts is they got the W & showed continued comfort playing the team ball style of game.
Good point. However through life I've always felt....that if you've done something the wrong way for lets say 3 years - it really does take 3 years to reverse the habit completely.
Something tells me waiting for some of these guys to REALLY turn their careers around - won't happen before they're in wheelchairs LOL.
I should just enjoy the recent success, and I do, yet can't help but look forward - and with forward looking comes a reality check. Can't look forward on a wish or dream - gotta look forward on facts.
Where are the facts laying right now? Entrenched in that .500-ish maximum ceiling the 2011 contracts lock us into.
Ah well...maybe we get surprised by some shrewd trades in the near term (next 8 months or so).
In the meantime the inspired play is certainly fun. The worry is if they do go 2-5 to finish the month - will they begin to pout and do what they've done year after year and revert to going through the motions? History would say yes. Mike D would say no or wake up face down in the east river. I guess we'll find out.
The old habits have certainly reared their ugly heads though and they're probably going to do so just enough to keep us in that ~.500 maximum ceiling range.
