I think it's time we seriously start considering trade offers for Jamal (not that we shouldn't have been before)

The Clippers might be a nice option since they are in a bind now with BDiddy out for 4-6 weeks.

agreed, warriors, too.

definitely...

LAC:
Crawford for Tim Thomas/DeAndre Jordan/Brian Skinner. Cut Fugazy and Skinner, keep Jordan who could be a nice prospect for us at Center.

GSW:
Crawford for Al Harrington straight up. Harrington expires after next year, give us some great cap relief and a good player for the time being.

I'd do either one. How are Thomas and Skinners contracts?

I think it's a mistake at this point.
I'll never trust this' team again.

If Gallo is not good Walsh made a big mistake passing on Lopez who is a position player that brings exactly what we needed, toughness and defense. Gordon and Bayless would have also fit a need. With Chandler in the fold gallo's skills are a bit redundant. Would have been nice to put the following starting unit out there

Lopez
Lee
Chandler
Lebron
Nate

Lebron?

Yeah, exactly. Don't forget about the big picture.

big picture thinking would have had us dumping Zach & our lottery pick a few months ago in that rumored Philly deal for Reggie Evans & their #16 pick w/whom we could have easily picked up a talented big like JJ Hixson or Javale McGee... then talking about Lebron coming here woulda been a realistic proposition... right now there's no use thinking about Lebron cuz he's 100% not gonna be a Knick unless we dump some of these immovable contracts.

Come on TMS. I'm surprised at you man. You can be a little more opened minded, a little more creative then that. Sorry for sounding so rude, but I gotta wake you up man! Anything can happen from now until two years from now. IT CAN HAPPEN! It's not impossible.

Getting these big fat contracts close to ending will open up our options. By LeBron time it would be much, much easier to go for him, because we could offer to trade a guy like Zach to a team as an expiring contract and if need be, offer to pay half the salary if it means opening up our doors for LeBron. Dolan will have' to start taking something like that into consideration, because you, me, the fans, the franchise and Dolan would be completely stupid to let LeBron go by without a fight.

And it doesn't have to be LeBron either. There are others that could/would go for a big NY contract, that could make a huge difference of us knocking on the door in a few years from now. I tried to make the point about getting Kobe and I didn't give up on that for a long time and I feel the same way about getting a true star in this town, wearing the orange and blue. Is it LeBron? Who knows, but we can't just say it's not gonna happen, just because we can't right now doesn't mean we can't in two years. Keep an open mind dude. Believe!

We gotta bring the Knick fan back to life. The Knick fan has been buried under ground long enough. Believe!
I'll never trust this' team again.

the max allowable amount of cash u can offer in any trade is $3 mil... this isn't baseball where u can absorb a high priced contract in return for small ones... believe me bro there isn't anyone here who wants Lebron to be a Knick more than i do... i wanted to tank an entire season just to get a shot at winning the lottery so we could draft him the year he was coming out... we gotta face reality... unless we dump some contracts for shorter length ones, Lebron ain't coming here.

Then get the big fat contracts close as possible to the end and buy them out. This time it's worth it. And thanks for understanding dude.

I think Crawford is opting out. Eddy is not going to chance it. Zach looks like he is going to be unselfish. What we need right now is the next to go 42-40 which isn't unrealistic. The team looks like it can win games with lee, chandler, zach, and nate out there. Duhon I am not a big fan but he has winning in his veins which is important. Marbury looks like he is going to distribute the ball.

There are a lot of dumb executives in the NBA. It's too bad we couldn't have moved zach to the clippers, a first round pick would have been worth it in the end.

But the Nets did what they needed to do and now have three core pieces in Yi, Harris and Lopez and a good role players in Williams, CDR and Boone that will all be cost effective useful pieces, thankfully they will not be in bk when it's time for lebron and wade.

I am sure Gallo can space the floor and I am sure mike envisions him playing a little anthony mason point forward from time to time, so i guess we will see what happens.

And the other problem with Zach's contract is 'it gets worse as time goes by'. He's set for 14 mil this year, 16 next and 17 plus in his last year. Dumping 17 mil is a lot to swallow, but a LeBron in Knick uniform can make that money back right away.

If we do get a shot at LeBron, it's gonna take as much of his hype in presence to earn all the money back that dolan squandered away for the last ten years. I think it's well worth it.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Key key key key key point going forward is Gallinari has to be good. This team is going to be better--its made up of players who will do well in this system. But the question is is this another year like we had with Pitino where it didnt last? You look at the Nets and while they are young--they have a frontline of Lopez Boone Yi with devin harris in the backcourt as the new foundation. we have an assortment of guys that we are going to be relyingt on to be good who arent necessarily part of the long term plan. That is why this whole Gallinari thing has to end up swell. We have three guys Lee Nate and Chandler--that is the Knicks foundation--maybe throw collins in there as a good back up--after that I dont know if any of these players will be here after two years--so this draft pick HAS to be a serious player.

Im glad we are winning though--it seems like we have a team capable of getting to round 2 in the playoffs and winning 45 games but the fear here is the turnover with no guarantee of FA in 2 years.

I think most of these guys will be here(besides the guys who expire before or at 2010) because D'Antoni seems to be enamored with some of these guys and because others are simply untradeable. I agree that we need Gallinari to be a player to have any core foundation. But he doesn't have to do anything but play. There are no expectations for him in the first 2 years at least. He has to learn the ropes. The kid is 20 years old.

PS: Mardy Collins sucks ass. He wont even be in the league in a few years, let alone part of this foundation.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

moving Crawford & Curry basically accomplish the same thing as moving Zach. Both have reasonable deals and we should be able to dump them before the deadline.
