Well, the way i see it , the guy is almost 7 feet tall and a disk problem is gonna be more severe for him than someone who is 6 feet+some. There is simply more weight that his spine has to carry. So perhaps surgery is the only option unless there is a chance he'll be 100% in a coupla months. He really needs to go to a real specialist imho. If it really is a problem, which all the facts point to, its better to take care of it now(surgery) than it is to wait a year and see it it gets worse (i really am no doctor but it seems like common sense to me). either way i want him to play for us and not go against the 300+ guys in the league, we are a finesse team afterall.

I believe that Gallo already has been seen by some pretty competent Medical professionals. These guys don't just walk into Queens General emergency rooms to get opinions. Again if you go to any reference material on the subject you'll see that they view surgery as a LAST resort if there's no rupture or major trauma that is basically an emergency situation. He has a bulging disc and most professionals say that with time and therapy the body can heal itself. If that's the case for him then i'd say shut it down and let it heal. I think part of the problem for most athletes is that they don't shut it down and continue to play even tho they aren't 100%. This just makes the situation worse.
