Randolph and a 1st rounder for Darko and Jaric is simply stupid. No way we take that deal. Randolph, 3 mill, and Collins for Darko, Jaric, and Crietton would be solid.

Alan Hahn is all over this! But hoopsworld????:

Crittenton on the table?

Our friends at Hoopsworld had this to offer in today's "Morning Report" regarding the Zach-to-Memphis situation.

Memphis Has Demands: So here is the latest on the Knicks and Grizzlies trade talks. The Grizzlies have agreed to the frame work of a deal that would send Darko Milicic and Marko Jaric to the Knicks in exchange for Zach Randolph and a future first round draft pick. The Knicks are reported to have countered with Zach Randolph and cash going to Memphis. Memphis seems interested in the deal, but is pushing hard for a future first round draft pick. The Knicks have made it clear that the only way they'd send out a future first, is if they got a promising young player in return. The Grizz reportedly put Javaris Crittenton on the table; the Knicks seem luke warm on JCritt. It's been suggested by sources close to the Knicks talks, that the Knicks would send a protected future first if it returned Hakim Warrick or Kyle Lowry. The Grizzlies seem less than interested in that combination. League sources contend this deal is squarely in the Knicks hands, and that neither side has put a timetable on this deal. Both teams would like to resolve their business before training camps open, meaning this thing could drag on for several more days.

Crittenton would be a nice addition because he's another guard who can defend, but for a first-round pick? You make the call.

This thing has sprung many leaks at this point.

Stay tuned . . .

LOL! Look at Javaris's stat line against basically all other teams, then check his line against the Knicks.

Okay, so we spend a year killing Frye, trade him for Zach Randolph now we are all amped up to trade Randolph for Darko who does everything worse than Frye except block shots?

How exciting.

You can thank Isiah for that. I didn't want to do the Frye for Zach trade.

Like it or not, this is what it's gonna take to get rid of Zach. I mentioned before that I thought the reported rumors were BS.

At THIS point, there's no way that it's BS. I read somewhere that Walsh commented and didn't even deny it. I think maybe it's a major struggle between the 2 teams and it will possibly fall through because of that first round pick, but it's clear that it's not BS. There's media outlets everywhere now, talking about how they have sources on this. Also, as DJ said, Alan Hahn works for Cablevision, and he's been on top of this more than anyone. He has SOME inside scoop.

Walsh thinks Warrick is worth a first round pick? I really beginning to have a great hate for this guy. The guy averaged 9 points and 4 rebounds and he is worth a 1st round pick.

Getting rid of Zach for atleast $10mil in 2010 caproom, while getting a guy like Crittenon or Warrick back would definitely be worth a 1st round pick to me. The pick as DJ told us yesterday, wouldn't be until ATLEAST 2012 anyway.

My familiarity w/ Warrick as a player is more about what he did at 'Cuse. Can anybody give a scouting report on him now?

Also, I see Javaris Crittenton as sort of a pass first version of a young Larry Hughes. Is this accurate?

Given my choice I would want Conley over Lowery-who I like- and Warrick if Mayo is off limits.

Yeah, he killed the Knicks.
But take a look at the steal of the night - Nate steals a pass against Crittenton.
Also take a look at the "blook of the night" Kirilenko blocks a layup aganst Crittenton who was being to fancy.
I'd go for Lowry over Crittenton.

Lowry for a lottery-protected first round could work.....but why do that? It gives us another salary for 2010/2011 so it makes it harder to go under the cap.

Sure, the version that has us giving up a 1st round pick and eating about $15 mil of Zach's salary probably isn't BS. It actually sounds much more plausible than the initial rumors ever sounded to me. I would never take back all of Zach's salary. I wouldn't offer what Memphis is offering if I ran Memphis. I'd just stay as far away as possible from Zach.

IMHO, Crittenton is a better prospect/talent than Warrick. Warrick, to me, is a nice run-the floor, athletic, throw down some alley-oop dunks on you type that reminds me a lot of Stromile Swift, a little bit bigger version of Ro. Balkman, that type.... Nice little player, gifted athlete, but is he really worth a Knick 1st rounder (probably slated to go somewhere in the lottery)? And does he even fit here now that Wilson Chandler appears to be on the verge of taking the next step and with the addition of Pat Ewing Jr. who's similiar. Like I said, nice athlete but when you look at him you kinda say, 'Is that it with this guy? Will he ever get any better or has he basically peaked' Is there any more upside with him'? I'm not sure. Will he ever take the next step and turn into one of the better SFs in the league or will he merely be a useful hybrid forward off the bench forever stuck between the 3 & the 4?? Like him, don't love him....... If this goes down and we wind up surrendering our pick (which I hope doesn't happen), I'd have to get back either Crittenton or Lowry over Hakim Warrick if I were Donnie Walsh....

i remember all the people here who were gizzing all over themselves when that deal went down... probably 1 of the worst trades in Knicks' history.

from what i saw he ain't really a pass first type of PG... not yet anyway... he looks for his shot, penetrates well into the lane, & isn't afraid to body up on guys on D... he hasn't gotten much of a chance to really show what he can do at the NBA level, but personally i think he can be sorta like Chauncey Billups if he fulfills his full potential.
