A former associate of D’Antoni’s referred to him “the world’s greatest contrarian,” a view that makes his decision to join the Knicks a little more sensible.
“Mike’s looking forward to the challenge, and he feels he has the right resources to take it on,” D’Antoni’s agent, Warren LeGarie, said.

A contrarian??? I like him already!!
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

The Knicks have just gone from having a conartist to a contrarian.

WOw, after reading everyone's comments in this thread on new knicks coach, Mike D'anonti, many of you surpise me.

This was a good pick up for the Knicks not only in a morale standpoint but also finally providing the Knicks with an identity.

Walsh went out and picked his man and will do anything to help bring in the right people that will fit into D'antoni's system.

HEy he is 1000000000000000000000000000000 better that ASSIAH. Already the knicks credibility has jumped up several notches.

Just as a few of you already mentioned it but the Knicks will definitely get Derrick Rose in the draft which should help D'antoni's sytem.
The Future. GO KNICKS!

Can we start calling him Mike Antoni until he learns how to coach some "D"?
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

You're right. 2nd mention retracted. I'm low on sleep and pretty bummed about the hire.

According to Mike Francesa, the Garden had no input in this coaching hire because as he has been told, Dolan was too busy with the Newsday negotiations and acquisition. Infact, Dolan was quite surprised when he heard that Donnie had signed a coach.

This is good to know.

Dolan obviously hasn't had time to check in with Isiah.

Seriously, is it really believable that Walsh is hiring a head coach without Dolan knowing who and for how much?
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Apparently fans ignored the PC where Dolan almost right off the top specifically said DW reports to him. I mean here's a guy working a deal to buy a Newspaper Entity to be a mouthpiece of his special interest, although I'm sure not the only reason.

Are we really using Fatcesca as a source now?

Jack McCallum has been on talking to Mike and the Moron for about 15 minutes talking about what to expect from D'Antoni, who he considers one of the top coaches in the game and whom he spent a year with.
