SAS on ESPNEWS.....SAS says based on how Donnie talked about Isiah, Isiah is in a world of trouble.

How so?

Basically he just said based on how Donnie said stuff, and the words he used, et al, he got the feeling Isiah was in a world of trouble. He said is is fully possible Isiah will lose his coaching job.

isles, SAS thinks based on the language.

I agree, honestly.

Walsh is subtly saying all of the things we want to hear, without throwing Isiah, Steph, Zach, Curry, etc under the train.

He's the anti-Larry Brown in that manner, and the anti-Isiah/Dolan/Layden in his assessment of the team's approach to roster changes.

Lets Rangerization begins!!!!

Is that really insight on SAS's part? I don't think anybody believes that Isiah remains as coach.

They are going to make it a "smooth" transition process, from the way it sounds. Isiah will probably be gone sometime this summer.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

See, this is my problem. Yesterday SAS was saying how he thinks Isiah will stay, now he thinks he'll be gone.

I'm tired of these 'reporters' speculating. Write and speak about the reports that you KNOW, I don't want to hear speculation.

I'm not jumping for joy. I'm not doing cartwheels. The fact that Walsh was hired and Isiah is still here is a testament to James Dolan. It is clear Dolan is insisting Isiah Thomas remain. If not as coach, then as something else. Thomas needs to be completely out of the organization. Not as scout or coach or anything else. Out.

Anyway, whatever.

Until I see Isiah Thomas fired - despite this lame speculation - I will not be happy.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

He talked great of Isiah. Although he is most likely gone, he said he will not make any comment until he sits down with him.

I think he didn't bash anyone because it isn't necessarily the best thing to do. Sure it make us feel happy, but is it in the interests of the team? He seems like a very strategic and respectful dude, but tough. Just what we need, IMHO.

He and Isiah go back, so it isn't the same as Isiah vs. Layden which is exactly what some are asking for Waslh to repeat, and look how that worked?

We don't need reactionary decision making, we need thought and analysis.

He said that he backed the decision to fire Isiah at Indiana, but while he was resistant initially, he thought it was in the team's best interests.

How's that for a sign that Isiah is not safe. He has backed him before, but also was okay with firing him.

I think this is why Walsh came in with only full control. To not have to give in to Dolan's ridiculous requests.

Yeah, I don't think so either, it's not exactly rocket science to think Isiah won't stay as coach, but I thought some felt that Isiah is going to stay.

Well, let a new era begin.

I am happy with Walsh's comments. I think we may finally see the beginnings of change in a direction that Knick fans have waited going on 7 years for. Funny to go back and remember Isiah's hiring and how that brought joy too, but we're all wiser now, and that means the Knicks can't hoodwink us anymore.

Regime change is in full effect, brothaaaaah!

Agree... but I never was heappy with Isiah from minute one.
He was the loser and no surprise he is the loser. And he always be.

Didnt sound like Lee was headed for a 6 year 56mm contract---I think the attractive avenue to save that cap space and add assets is by pairing Lee with an other player to grab a solid first round pick + an ending contract.

Briggs - it was curious that Walsh did not mention Lee among the players with some attractive skill-sets.

You think it was it deliberate or simply an oversight?

I would pay good money to listen in on Walsh's first conversation with Marbury.

Walsh: "Brooklyn or da Bronx?"

Marbury: "Brooklyn"

Walsh: "wrong answer"

earl...

love the Waslh-Marbury conversation..haha

He left out Z-Bo too, until someone asked.

I didn't even think about Lee either. Yeah, wonder what's that all about. Maybe nothing, but I do agree with BRIGGS that Lee is unlikely to be maxxed out.

I feel pretty confident about our team's future. Of course, I've felt that before and ate my words, but I think this is different. It's a bit of trial-end-error.

Yeah, man. I didn't respond to you're comment about the Yanks last night either. I'll say that I'm pretty happy the season has started, but I'll admit I ain't as crazy about the Yanks as I used to be. Hard to top going to game 6 of the 1996 World Series and seeing them win. I felt pretty much the same about them as I do the Knicks now, so I just need the Knicks to win a title to cut back on my habit...haha.

He just said what folks have been wanting the Knicks GM to say for years that we have not been able to get into the free-agent market for years.
I hope he means it and isn't just BS-ing us to get support. If he really is looking to get under the cap, I'll be THRILLED! That means no more starphucking and finally legitimate rebuilding. He's gonna have to PROVE he means that, but I'm at least a little optimistic.
