Who do you take if you're Atlanta?

Do you semi reach for Conley to make up for not taking Paul or Deron when they had the chance or do they take Horford?

You do the right thing and fill your need. Draft Conley and trade one of your front court players(Childress, Smith) for a Top 10 pick if possible. Man ATL won this draft they have the #3 and #11 pick

Who is Chicago drafting with our #9? nbadraft.net has them picking Noah. Is that a good pick? They have Tyrus who is the same player right?

A whole lot of nothing happened at the trade deadline. I think the madness is only beginning.

Agreed. It helps Seattle where there was serious talks about the team just leaving town. Serious talks according to Stern. Now with Durant maybe fans will regain interest. Funny how life works.

You don't follow the Hawks much. It was Oden/Durant or bust for the Hawks. There is a immediate need to get better and improve ticket sales. Everything else seems like fodder. In Atlanta is about re-building the fan base.

I think this is how it goes top 5

1. Por- Oden
2. Seattle Durant [is rashard lewis expendable now?]
3. Atl Al Horford
4. Mem Roy Hibbert
5 Boston Brandon Wright[this pick may be traded]

the nba needed new franchise studs in the EAST badly. seattle? portland? i don't know man...the nba benefits more from stars in bigger markets...and that's what they need.

boston ain't using the pick - it's as good as traded.

if you're portland - do you try to trade zach for shard?

Atlanta should trade their 3rd pick to the celts for #5 and draft conley who is a reach at 3 and get a future 1st round pick from the celts or a pick swap...

Celtics are desperate but they aren't that desperate especially in the weak atlantic.

The Celtics are screwed. Who do they take? They have a PF and a SF but the guys who should be there at 5 are Horford, B Wright, Jianlian or Brewer.

Jianlian might be the best fit if they plan on keeping Jefferson and Pierce.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

I was a season ticket holder and that is not completely true, the Hawks fans have been screaming for a PG, they need to take conley, end of story, move JJ back to SG and go from there....

not a bad move to get an asian guy in there - they can jack up ticket prices and ratings will increase. but i think they still need a pg - i would take conley.

I think you should flip flop your 3 and 4 picks. I see the Hawks going after Hibbert. Meanwhile the Western Conference Final is on and only two lottery picks on the floor for both teams. Late Round picks and 2 round picks are getting the airtime. hmm....

Gotta love it, the guys who were most adamant about the Knicks having nothing to lose with the Lottery outcome are the same ones coming out with the "WHEWS!!"

Hmmm, I thought the Knicks had nothing to lose?
I think the phew was for not having to deal with the Curry vs Oden or Curry vs Durant threads incase it did happen.

Instead it will be something like Curry vs. Brandon Roy and Hibbert

LOL thanks for replying to this post tkf.

I might be working somewhat backwards in trying to acquire Conley only because I feel the Hawks can't afford room for F'ing up but they could trade down with Boston or maybe even the Wolves, but I would play it safe. Draft him at 3 and trade one of my redundant young prospects while trying to to stay in the Top 10 or no lower than 12.

He's not a 3 pick. In this draft you go big @ 3. I think Horford is the best *fit* for that team but do you pass on a 7-2 285 pound player with great offensive skills? Just putting 7-2 280 in the middle is a HUGE effect. Doesnt atl have pick 11 as well--- take a PG there.

tkf, I go to the Hawk games too and I agree pg help is needed but that guy was Paul or Williams. Not getting those guys forced Knight in getting Speedy Claxton (that sure work out great didn't it) and Anthony Johnson. All season long, as much as people complained about Speedy, they also complained about getting abused my every other big man in the NBA. No low post. I don't see it.

I assume you mean Boston. An Al Jefferson, JO, Paul Pierce team could go far in the east.
