Well it's more than just being stubborn. If he wins the Sixth Man of the Year award it is more of an honor than if he starts a fe games. There's no award for that. I think since Lee has worked so hard, he wants him to get some special recognition. It may be silly, but I can understand it, in some ways. The guy still plays lot's of minutes and finishes games, which is the most important thing. He started the 2nd half and he's clearly a starter in terms of importance.
but lee WANTS to start! he's been a good soldier not complaining about not starting, but he doesn't mention awards or anything as his goal. he wants to start, not have a shot at winning some consolation prize.
if IT's doing it for the 6th Man award, it's to make himself look good, not to do lee any favors.
