Wow...this thread got some run...my question is how long can the dog chase his tail before he gets dizzy and falls down?

Noone is questioning Marbs talent...that is the funny thing....he has ALL WORLD tools from the neck down....it's above the neck that is the problem.

I call it a system because I can't think of a better term but Larry's system, as was pointed out isn't a system, all it is is the basketball we all learned in 4th grade, it is basic fundamental team ball and the guy who is supposed to be the most basketball saavy guy on the court doesn't get it.

The guys who left Minny because he didn't get paid more than KG, led in NJ by writing "All Alone" on his sneakers, and who has questioned his coaches in 2 back to back stops can't lead.

I got 20 and 8 reasons why this guy CAN be a dominant player if he puts his mind to it and stops believing the world owes him something.

What is the bottom line? Steph's weakness is the one strength you have to have to play in NY, his mental toughness. Just because you stomp your feet and say "The sky is green" doesn't make it so. Everyone else will still see blue.

Steph seems to be that annoying guy in the background on the six o'clock on location news...you know, that dumbass who is making faces and waving behind the reporters? He seems he has to damn sure everyone knows he is there and he has to be the talk of the team.

& here's some stats you're sure to love:

in both of the last 2 seasons, Brevin Knight has averaged more Assists per game than Marbury, all in less minutes per game played & while playing with significantly inferior talent.

& yet another nice stat you're bound to get a kick out of:

Marbury's salary in 2006 = $16,453,125
Brevin's salary in 2006 = $4,600,000

now you tell me who's the better bargain.

Holy crap, Knight is getting $4.6 million a year. What a country. Atleast Marbury has been an all-star twice in his career and he is still vastly overpaid but Knight $4.6 million.

who cares if Marbury was a former allstar? compare their #'s the most recent 2 seasons (while Marbury's been in NY) & tell me who's the better bargain.

Well if you were just to look at if financially, you may need to consider Marbs took the Knicks to the first round of the playoffs last year, what is that worth in the Garden...Ticket sales...Hard as it may be to believed, people came to see Marbs play the last 2 years...Does Dolan get a piece it Marbs Jersey sales, it's top 3 in the NBA...

On the other hand, can you find a Jersey for Breven Knight if you really wanted one?

i'm talking about production compared to salary... Brevin's the better bargain... are you seriously trying to bring up jersey sales into this discussion?

We are like a depository of unwanted contracts for the league. We really help maintain the league by doing so.

Nuggets-Spurs. That was a nice game to watch!

Detroit-Miami. NIce to see detroit play team ball and team defense. Its nice to see what a constant starting 5 can do. This was larrys team and while others may argue his impact on the team, I watch the ball movement and defense and see this is what he trying to do in NY. Maybe we see it once or twice a game, its familiar.

Im with Larry here. I do think the veterans have quit on him. I don't know why Isiah keeps bring in the unmotivated veterans when its clear they don't want to play larrys way.

And while its true Larry is the wrong man for this job, its the right thing to do and I hope Isiah cleans house to get the roster correct. BUt I do want Marbury to stay and play into larrys system if he in fact wants to do this.

Whats troubling is that watching this team, it just doesn't seems like any of the vets are putting out the effort that it takes to be a good team...I mean there are a few like Craw and Malik that tries and gets it done on fewer nights than we need...Most others are pouting for one reason or another, the rooks don't have the experience..So I really wonder what will happen in the off season...The entire team is infected...What can larry and Isiah possibly do to turn this around...It's that serious to me...

It's not about talent anymore, it's clearly direction...Larry and Isiah has to establish that they are clearly on the same page and establish the path they will take to get win games and take this team forward...I think there is a division and the players sense it and have choosen sides...They too have no idea what to look forward to in the future...

The dificulty in all this is in the off season is when players of improve when they work on their games..There is so much confusion that who knows what motivation this group will have in the offseason..This should have been a huge offseason for Frye b4 he went down..Who knows, maybe he will bulk up anyway....Lee I think will put in the work....I certainly hope Curry puts in the work, something tells me he will...Big game can help( don't laught)...but we will see....It really isn't looking good at all...They are not finishing well at all....We will see...

I was defending Marbs saying that it wasn't all his fault, but I do admit, If he was a leader, he should be a guy to motivate his mates to play harder...But in his words, he just ain't that dude...

LOL, how can give Larry credit but not Rick. Then in the same breathe want to put in a qualifier about Larry's impact on the Pistons but not mention Flip. Then for some reason, you try and put the blame on Isiah for bringing the new guys after JJ like it was Isiah call when, he, Larry Brown, Marbury and Ariza all said as loud as possible that Brown has the final say about players.

RIck? Naw, Detroit aint about Rick.

I don't see the Detroit players go over and hug Rick.

FLip doing an excellent job! He opened up the offense a bit more and its working.

But like I said, the ball movmeent and team defense was Larrys footprint on that team.

Somtimes you don't realize a relationship until your away from it.

Reezy and Marbury have no cred in what they say.

Jaelen and Francis I don't expect to turn this thing around this year.

Rick does deserve some love....In his last year, Detroit defense was ranked 4th in the league..Larry and Sheed took it to 2nd in the league...On that alone, Rick deserves some credit..As for the hugs, Larry won a Championship with them, so there some bonds that form with that, along with the fact that they just hated Carlisle...He treated them badly...

Flips ain't got the cred that Larry has. GOod coach, not hating on flip. But his teams kinda under achieved.

Ricks first gig was in Detroit and if the players won't play for you , your toast.
