It's hard to be patient with young talent. But it generally pays off.

^yup! NYkers just want wins now. If they don't get it, despite the circumstances it means hang the GM, fire the coach and stab the best player.

Curry is a fine scorer.

He needs to learn to pass, rebound and most importantly play defense.

Yes, I can easily see him putting up good enough numbers to be an all star - because offense make you an "all-star" - but to be a real impact player his defense has to improve.

I have a slightly different take. I've seen him do all these things. Now he needs to do them consistently. And he needs to get tougher so he doesn't have to sit out so much with grimaces, pains, flopping around on the floor like a walrus, etc. Sure his game has room for a lot of growth but it's good enough now. We've seen the 29 & 9's, the 23 & 15's with 5 blocks, etc. Start doing them all the time so we can count on you.

In 14 games with at least 30 min, Curry's #s
34 mpg, 19 PPG, 9 RPG, 1.2 Blks, 57%FG
That in addition to how he's played in all games since returning from injury late last month has to give you hope.

60 games or roughly 3/4 into the season and Curry's numbers so far:

13.7 pts, 6.3 rebs and 0.8 blocks

If we had that #1 pick still, we could have gotten garnett in the offseason. Curry stinks and he will never be a star. Can't shoot, Rebound, Play D, blocks shots, stay out of foul trouble, and the key is that he has no heart.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

to be fair, you predicted he would miss a major chunk of time and he hasn't. obv, Curry has been a disappointment, but I think the biggest disappointment was how much Gamblin' Isiah wagered he'd be a 20 and 10 guy who would lead us to the playoffs despite having no summer workouts, coming to a new team with a me-first PG and a coach who hates me-first PGs.

I'm surprised he's that close.

All right, so one really break-out game, and then he can coast in the other.

I said extended. 10 games or 1/8 of the season is somewhat extended, don't you think?

Either way, I get dogged for being such a pessimist and what happens? My well thought out and reality based observations come to fruition. It's not that hard really when you don't imbibe the Kool-Aid.

Not trying to be a smart ass to you Killa. Nothing against you and I take no pride in proving you wrong per se. More hoping to get posters to be more reality based when it comes to forming opinions and criticizing others.

You know if Curry was anywhere near 20 and 10, this thread would have come up more than just quarterly in an effort to show me how wrong I was. And I don't mean necessarily by you Killa.

I'm as upset with Curry as the rest of you guys. I'm not optimistic about his future either. I hate how lazy he is. I'm not holding my breath that he becomes a best....BUT(sorry if the but annoys anyone) he's 23 and I have a hard time giving up on the guy at this point.

Personally I view him as a guy that can give us 17 and 7 on any given night although not consistently. If we are building around him we are probably going to be disappointed. But if you are building a strong team that can put him in a role that is suitable(ie.-offensive center) he can be a solid role player for you even if he ne never improves. Anything else can be used as a bonus. You can definitely do worse than him at center. Just don't build around him as a central figure, which is of course exaclty what we are doing. Miscasting another "superstar".

Why can't we just build a team?
