we have 15 players signed. Right now Jackie Butler does not have a contract

But thats cool... like TMS there is probably another move coming like Diop. We now have 14 players signed with a potential roster spot for Butler, Diop or Slavko Vranes, all of whom will have incredible upside and be like having a free first rounder.

Tom its cool you have such low expectations. I was just hoping that IT and co would just make a move that was better explanable that "not that bad" or "all the moves were stupid."

If Isiah amnesties Shamdon and THEN waives JYD, there'd be even more of an outrage. "We got rid of JYD for nothing! That's so stupid!"
no, because if JYD is THEN waived it would only be to sign another player, at which point you can disagree, but understand.

The reaction is fear. Fear of more idiotic moves that make zero sense.
The fact that JYD was a good role model for the young players as well as a community guy is just icing.

Hey give them a break, they only had 1 whole month to figure out who to waive. So what if it took us 5 minutes to figure out that waiving Shandon was the only move that made any sense.

Hey, Isles, what if they wanted to keep Jackie Butler? How would waiving Shandon make sense then?

I can't wait for you to eat your words...MoT will turn into a bonafide start with by himself or through trade.

Do you know anything about basketball?

MoT is better JYD.

I'm willing to bet that Taylor will never be more then a bench scrub for the rest of his career, and so far I haver been right, he did nothign for us last year other then puttin up meaningless numbers in a couple of meannigless games.

So far you are the one eatin crow, as you defended the trade from the outset and claimed it would help us towards a playoff push.

Taylor will harldy play next year and after 2 years full of DNP's in NY his career will be essentially over.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

The last year of his deal is a year before Taylor's, check your facts before you post. The last year on his contract is a team option, we have been over this like a billion times already.

You say that in Texas and they'd string you up.

Rose brings intelligence (see him pull out the chair on shaq) and championship savvy and Brown loves him.

Do you guys know anything about basketball? Do you watch the games? Do stats count for anything? Rose is a far better option than JYD...I need proof JYD is our second best defender btw...cause if that isn't a made up fact, I don't know what is.

Rose played on a CHAMPIONSHIP team defending the other teams best low post threat (SHAQ btw) out west in the playoffs while Duncan stayed out of foul trouble and they WON A CHAMPIONSHIP.

JYD has done what in his career?

I think Isiah is right with the fact that we had to waive a PF, but I don't agree with the one he has chosen. I'm going to tell you now before it happens: I'm gonna be if Malik Rose becomes our new starting PF. In my opinion he is the most overrated player in our roster.

What does waiving Allan accomplish? It's better financially for the team to have him retire.

How does waiving Shandon make sense if they wanted the roster spot?

Why is it low expectations to think that Jackie Butler might be worth the miniscule difference in contract value between JYD and Shan? Aren't you the one who said that Vin Baker's heart surgery would make him a valuable player?

The amount of vitriol here is nothing new, but in this case it's almost laughable. I expect it from Isles, but some of the rest of you guys usually make sense.

WRONG.

RealGM has the last year as a team option. I'll take RealGM's facts over hoopshype anyday.

for everyone saying Lee is able to replace JYD, Lee is a rookie and might not get it

Rose is a freagin midget and his rings don't mean anything except that he was playing alongside Tim Duncan.

I'm betting JYD ends up in miami!

There's no doubt that there's a market for JYD now that nobody has to pay him his contract, besides the Knicks. I'd bet that he's scooped up by a contender real quick. Contenders are always looking for athletic guys who hustle, plays defense and is a team player.

The last year of JYD's contract is a team option, but that's year three. Both JYD and MO T have two years guaranteed.

Rose did nothing to help SA. He was the weakest part of their rotation. Their achilles hill if you will.

I remember back in 99 I was extatic every time he came into the game because it meant somthing good for the Knicks every time he touched the ball.

Why do you think they gave up 2 1st round picks to get rid of him if he was so good.

lol. Why is it you never have anything nice to say about Knicks players until they leave? If JYD signs with another team, we get more money from that team.

What great conversation!!! You can't help but laugh at some of the posts for and against this move. It's great to see all of the talk about releasing one of the greatest towel wavers in Knick history.

I think JYD embodied the characteristics of what people would like to see from this team, when you look at the rest of the roster no one has that same personality or spunk. His passion, commitment and great attitude are all things we want to see out of this team win or lose (hopefully winning)on the court.

I think we all can make arguments about who should have been waived and why. JYD was just a fan favorite that people latch onto so it's harder to see him go. Playing wise he doesn't put us over the hump one way or another. In the locker room is where a player like him makes a difference, bringing enthusiasm and professionalism to the team.

We will see him waving a towel on some contenders bench next year...

I think the Nets where he can police Carter and will really fit in well there.

I think Phoenix where they still need big defenders and he can run the court well.

And Rose isn't? and if that's teh only criteria, there's no way H20 was being waived.
