And people need to learn that just being athletic doesn't make you a good NBA player.

After reading this thread I'm just amazed that Lee wasn't drafted in the Lottery and fell to us at 30.

Sorry to break the bad news, but David Lee DOES NOT have a 42" vertical.

From the Chicago PreDraft measurements...
32 1/2" Vertical.

Celtics were gonna take Lee at 18 if Green didn't fall. Lee's a good player and he and Nate are gonna turn up the intensity in practice.

Let's right - as in the original Kenny Skywalker Walker.

Isles, I would like to know: Which team do you root for? Which one is your favorite team?

Terrible pick i think Isiah has proven himself to be a real dumb mother****er with this draft

I think you go Green or Granger with the first pick

Jack or Hodge with the Suns pick

And then take a chance on Blacthe, Taft, Deng Gi

Someone, this draft really proves their was no reason to make the Crawford trade last year and add all that salary, and JYD's contract, Isiah has no concept no plan, there is really no hope with this team

You swing for the fences in the draft you don't go after role players, which Frye is

comments like this confuse me, well actually they don't, everyone is enamored with the HS kids because they can always say "He has star potential" even after 10 years in the league people will be saying the same thing.. "He still has star potential". I mean how many of us have seen Blatche play at all. I can tell you I have seen Lee play and Robinson and frye. Robinson is a fantastic player, a great athlete and a smart player, guy played corner for the washington football program, enough said.. Frye is a player, I would not be suprised if he outplays Bogut.. Lee IMO would run circles around blatche and Taft who made a fool of himself. This kid is not just a hustle player, he can do it all and finish on the break. to call these picks dumb don't make sense to me..

you said it right the first time. dude you are confused. I'm noticed this for quite some time now. I tried to raise you the correct way but somehow i lost you somewhere along the way.

you are one of the posters who come in here screaming about how the Knicks should take a chance on this and that but then when they go into the other direction then you go on your "potential means nothing" campaign.

you play both sides of the fence.

i have more respect for a man that shoots me in my face than a man who stabs me in my back.

I have NO idea what you mean by the last post, but let me comment on people who want to draft Taft, Green, Blacthe.

Taft had the chance to get gauranteed millions of $ if he put 2-4 weeks worth of hard work trying to impress NBA types. Instead he lofted through Chicago and other workouts. He worked out for the Knicks and all those other teams and they still didn't like him enough to pick him in the first round. This guy must be CLUELESS. Talent but NO HEART. Gazy written all over him. Could he correct it and get better? Hell yeah, but why would you risk millions of dollars (cause that's what it is) over a guy who shows everyone all season long and then in Chicago and everywhere else that he wants to work and get better and WIN. Lee did. Taft has shown me that he doesn't want to win or get better.

Green, Blacthe. Neither of these guys wanted to work out for teams against other players. Why? There is NO reason not to unless by doing so you think you will hurt yourself. None. If you are sooooo good, show it. GM's and the like have high school video and all-star, no D tapes to watch, who cares about that. In the NBA you have to play against other guys. Why would you risk millions of dollars without researching the guys? Would you invest your saving in a stock tip that I thought was good without doing homework? Nope. Neither would GMs outside of their comfort zone. Green at 18? Hell yeah. At 8 where you know you can get a guy that will contribute? Nope.

Would I have gone after Granger? Maybe, but the Knicks do have Ariza. But at #8 with Frye on board? Nah.

Lee's scouting report reminds me alot of ( I am not saying "he will be the next...") but the scouting report reminds me of Karl Malone when he came into the league.

for those who have seen this guy play, what do you think his upside is? Could he become an NBA all-star?

I don't know about an NBA All-Star.

Florida's been on CBS quite a lot during Lee's tenure at UF, I remember watching him in the McDonald's dunk contest, I'd say I've seen him play 15-20 times.

He's really athletic, has good size and strength, I think he'll be a really good pro. I have never liked Billy Donovan as a coach (I think he's a classic CBB coach who can recruit the lights out but not coach, hence the usual 1st or 2nd round upsets for Florida) and didn't think Lee was utilized correctly.

In the right system, I can see him becoming a guy who averages near a double-double.

He's a high energy guy. You have to go with Suhr and Thomas' track record on this one and just see the guy's they've picked up in the past. MS, you're nuts bro, relax. I hate when people criticize the draft, you never know what you'll get or how a guy will pan out! Relax, let's just see how these guys play.

Suhr and Thomas have been around the NBA for a LONG LONG time. They found Dennis Rodman, Suhr discovered Ben Wallace, Isiah drafted TMac, Ariza, etc., so to just dispute all of these picks and claim that you, some average Joe who probably watches a few hours of college bball per year in March and who, I would bet my last paycheck, has never even seen Blatche or Green play in a non-high school all-star game, knows more about the Knicks' scouts and managament is ridiculous. Typical New York fan.

Cool off, man, let's see how they pan out before you start calling people "dumb mother****ers". If anybody's a dumb mother****er, it is you, wanting the Knicks to draft Julius Hodge at 21 when he was picked at 20.

And if anyone else wants Chris Taft, I might vomit in my mouth. DID ANYBODY WATCH THIS GUY IN COLLEGE? I go to BC, so I saw Taft in person, I've seen him on TV, I've seen him in the Big East tournament, I've seen him probably 10 times. What a bum. All the talent in the world but clearly just not into it, at all. He fell like a rock. There is a reason for that. NBA teams are getting sick of lazy bums who just want to get paid and don't want to work at all. Barring something incredibly unforeseen, I'll go on record and say Chris Taft will never be a full-time starter in the NBA.

Lee is exactly the kind of guy you have to have in your rotation. He gets boards, plays physical d, finishes like and all star, and blocks shots with either hand!

Should Lee go straight to the Hall of Fame or can he play a minute in the NBA first?

Isles, are you a knicks' fan?

Probably for longer than most people on this board.

Then, seriously, if you are a knicks fan, why are you so extremely negative? People here are negative sometimes, even me. But it looks like you can't even dare to see a little sunlight at the end of the Knicks tunnel. Why? Why so negative about the team you supposedly love?

Let me see a ray of sunlight and I'll be as positive as any Kool Aid drinker on this board.

Everything that has happened since I joined this board has been nothing but spinning our wheels without a plan and making moves for the sake of making moves. Until that changes there's nothing to be positive about.

Bill Parcells called he wants his joke back, it's only 16 years old and shouldn't be out this late.

I painted an accurate picture of Lee. Doesn't read like Karl Malone or Tim Duncan. Reads like a guy who plays d, boards, blocks shots and can finish. Teams need guys like this.

Now go whine about something else, defect.
