We might be able to get DDV back, the way things are shaking out.

Whaa?

Julius is awful in the playoffs. Amirite?

He was up to this point in his career. The change of scenery was just what Randle needed. Amirite?

He scored zero points in the playoffs last year. Who does that?

Randle is gone and isnt coming back until he's an aging role player. Sorry dude.

That makes no sense. A change of scenery would take care of any effects of aging.

Good news. The Wolves do have some positives to take away. We all knew the Thunder were going to be tough at home.

Well that was brutal. Some no-shows that hopefully bounce back next game.

I suspect you're being sarcastic but I'd love to have DDV back. All we really need is one more rotation player off the bench; particularly someone that can be a heater offensively. In that role, I think he'd be a favorite to win 6MOTY with the synergy he's had with the Nova crew and NYC.

Given MINs financials, they might even be willing to effectively dump DDV in order to give that contract to NAW. I think a player or two on a rookie/lesser contract, minor draft compensation and a trade exception could work for them. I think the key is to find a heady player that can play off the ball and also get them into actions quicker alongside ANT, especially down the stretch. A Tyler Kolek could fit that profile but I doubt he'd be ready for rotation minutes on a contender by next season.

Wouldn’t shock me. He will have a team friendly deal this summer 2 years remaining at about $12 mil per.

Wolves may include half his salary in a trade if he keeps chucking at a 3-14 click

Wolves main Bench shot 7-36. Reid 1-11
Soft refs allowing too many flop calls.
Too much SGA
And OKC’s defense is off the charts good.

Wow I decided to get some rest after the first half. Randle was doing work. Apparently didn't do much in the 2nd half and the rest of the wolves were awful.

Does Randle opt out of that player option? He's been really good down the stretch and in the playoffs and could be a $40mm+ player based on his level of play, but for who exactly? Not sure the suitors are there. He has a 31mm player option, which isn't bad, but I have to believe he thinks he's earned more and certainly a longer term deal.

I tell you, once Dadiet gets flowing, he will be that guy. He has got a lot of hurdles left to cross - filling out and really gaining that gunner's mentality - but he is that lightening quick shooter who just has an innate feel for shooting and scoring. He shows those signs. May see glimpses next year IF he gets minutes. Definitely in 2.

Not sure what changes were made at half time but it seemed like they wanted Randle to be more of a playmaker since offense was struggling. Which Randle has done well when asked to be the facilitator this season. I think he is better as the second swing option off Conley creating and scoring off the pass. As he did in first half. Helps him stay away from too much ball handling. As more of a facilitator in the second half, he did a good job of getting guys open looks but they shot awful. And he also had several TO’s when he should have just shot the ball instead.

He has proven all the naysayers wrong. The ones who expected him to carry a bad team despite getting all the attention from an entire defense and despite having a cracked ankle in second playoff run.

I don’t see anyone beating OKC. Elite defense and the best player in the NBA right now.

Haven't seen enough of Randle during these playoffs but I get the sense that he fits better with this current roster.

Starts with Defensive Player of the Year Rudy. Has a pure facilitator PG in Conley. Alpha scorer and personality in Ant. Shooters and long defensive bigs around him off the bench. This situation is more ideal for him than anything he had while a Knicks player, and especially consistently while he was not hurt.

IMHO with a guy like Randle, you need an even more alpha scoring personality around him to make him better.

Absolutely agree - and I was curious to see how that played out in NY. Brunson and Randle had more of a 1A, 1B thing going before his injury. Brunson obviously took it to another level at that point and now at full blown superstar. Think it was probably easier for Julius to go be Robin to Ant's Batman than it would have been accepting the demotion in NY. But we'll never know. Wish him luck against 28 other teams in the league.

Minnesota missed a golden opportunity to build a good lead in that first half. Randle shot the ball out of his mind and the defensive gameplan on SGA and OKC was really good but give OKC credit. That's why they won 68 games and are the favorite to win it all! SGA got going in that second half and their defense made life hell. You cannot turn the ball over against that team! And Randle gave me bad PTSD in that second half with his turnovers and effort on defense. You get the bad with the good with him. But Edwards needs to play better and match SGA's production or they have no shot. And the Wolves bench cannot lay an egg like that. Reid and DVo shot the ball poorly.

I still think it'll be a long series but have to give OKC the edge. They look like the better team and SGA looks like the best player in the series even though the calls he get's at times is really bad to watch.
