I wonder if they would move Siakam to Portland for Simons and #3 and draft him a PG to develop in Scoot, then move OG to the Knicks for his godson RJ. Henderson, Simons, Barrett, Barnes, Poeltl starting 5.

Interesting concept.
The fact they moved from Nurse and Massai did not make any quick deals at deadline makes me think they are thinking its more about what a new coach can do with their core and move from their. siakim for the 3 and Simons is interesting. As for RJ, thats for Ujiri to decide. OG to me is not enough of an upgrade and have to consider OG extension is coming up next year. I know RJ calls Canada home and thats a good marketing thing for both him and the team as well as Nash.

Ujiri also has to make sure OG doesn’t Brunson him.

OG was all defensive second team who is also a floor spacer. How is that not enough of an upgrade?

“RJ is 22”………..Peter Pan ceiling is still undetermined. RJ is very polarizing for many fans. I get it.
We been thru this manytimes.

Is "RJ is 22" the Knicks fans version of the "hopes and prayers" line? I am being facetious of course and the 2 are not nearly equatable.

At some point it has to be tangible, and not just for a a couple of games or a month's worth of shooting while surrounded by months of below average stuff.

Now this has me intrigued. It all depends on if they actually call it. They tried for like half a season with the fines then gave up. I might actually enjoy the NBA as much as I did back in the days if this actually stops the flops. Any time a player decides to stop making a basketball move to instead flop the NBA gets worse to me.

^^ sounds good but i think they will need more like post game assessments and after the game technical foul-like penalties. Reason being that it's super tough to catch some flops when the flopper knows what he's doing. they just exaggerate the response to actual contact.

during the game i can see the tech being called for the egregious flops to the ghost contact, but for the skilled flops they might need more itme to identify that

Yes to this. And the techs can and will add up over season to the tune of missed games. Hopefully.

I don't have any faith in this experiment. Some flops are so obvious and the zebras still call them. Especially when a guy is posting up and the defender acts like he just got hit by a train. It's ridiculous and I'm glad none of our players do it. The other ones that make no sense are big dudes fighting through screens and flop when they are being picked by a guy who is 30 pounds lighter. So dumb!

Josh Hart is a very good flopper. He gets hit he is like a wrestler in reaction. Quick is pretty good at drawing fouls but neither are obnoxious. There is an art form to it. If its overt, its a bad look. Jules is pretty bad at it. He gets hit, he complains. JB is so active I think refs have a hard time calling him.

Yes, Lebron is quite the flopper!!!

Flop should count as a personal foul and 2 shots - that would curb the issue but more pressing issue is offensive flopping which I hope this new rule would include.

Also - please the rid of the rip thru fouls - those are garbage and completely reward offensive player for indicating unwarranted contact.

Just what we need another entirely subjective call that crooked refs can use in their toolkit to decide outcomes of games for bookies

and another excuse for lazy ass fans who don't think Refs are held accountable for their calls, are reviewed and scored based on accuracy.

Incentive.

The aggregate value of the NBA franchises is about 90Billion dollars. They generate about 10billion a year in revenue.
That market cap puts it about the size of Citigroup, or say about 90th or less in the S&P 500 if it was a stand alone company.
I know math is lost on you as you seem to not have demonstrated how to digest it other than parrot others statements when it suites your argument.

So you're not lost, the bigger the company the lower the number. For example Apple is the largest. It would be number one. The 500th would be the smallest. So 90th puts it win the top quintile. Thats top 5th. Or, some say top 20%. Sorry if others are rolling their eyes at this basic depiction.

But one conspiracy type dude thinks the NBA does not monitor its Refs and how it would affect gambling, or the quality your mistaken.
Tim Donaghy was discovered, and went to jail.
Were there others? Lets assume so. Would the NBA broadcast if another ref were to go rogue? Doubt it. So fans, even lazy ones would not know. Lets just assume its in their best interests to make sure the integrity of its product is maintained even if just for the greater good of greed. When unexplainable things happen its the short bus of us that tilt to "If I can't explain it, it must be conspiratorial". Thats actually a big word I doubt you'd use.
The sport, the revenue, all would blow up if the league were to not keep its product as pure as possible.
If there are credible reporting that lends itself to "crooked Refs" pleas pass it on.
Prove me wrong. My ego can handle it.

no ill will on Lonzo. But 82 games is tough

i think a lot of the string bean types have difficulty with the volume and intensity of NBA games

hopefully if he does retire he will at least have reasonably good normal mobility to enjoy life after basketball
