Just got my first Moderna shot. My arm is slightly sore. Nothing big. I am mentally preparing for it to be very sore tomorrow.

Martin, how are you feeling now? How long did the side effects last?

Want to say a majority of people I've talked to say the symptoms after second shot (if you get them) last just about 24 hours and it was that for me. Heated up about 12 hours after shot, second day was spent moping around feeling like I had the flu, woke up third day just fine.

I have my second Moderna shot scheduled for a Monday night. I am off Tuesday and Wednesday. You think I should be good to go by Thursday?

Everyone reacts differently. You may not have any symptoms, you may have migraines. I got mine on a Saturday morning and by Monday morning I was back to norm. Buddy of mine was offline til Tuesday. Another friend had zero symptoms whatsoever.

I have heard of more symptoms from Moderna than Pfizer but that's just casual observation (and knowing that Moderna has like 3 times the amount of stuff that makes you react from shot). Some people have reactions with placebo shots. It's up to your chemistry and body.

A lot of the more elderly people I know felt nothing after the second shot. It’s entirely about how robust your immune system is.

I have heard the same, not sure it's the robustness of the immune system of something else that goes along with age

This variant originated in Brazil and has now taken over most cases. Brazil just reached 4k deaths a day threshold.

Even though you might get both doses of your vaccine they are not nearly as effective against these new variants. Still wear you mask and keep your guard up until a majority of the population are vaccinated and it lessens the amount of variants.
