Chris Quinn is considered Spoelstra's mini me. Great college player at ND who bounced around the league for a few seasons and has firmly been entrenched on the Heat bench with 2 of the best minds in the game as his mentors

I could be down with Chris Quinn.

Guy is slick like Pat Riley but also tough/hardnosed/savvy like Pat Riley.

Not sure if he has any interest but I'd be most intrigued by him #1 and Hurley #2.

Johnny Bryant would be underwhelming to me particularly given Cavs and their system just got washed by same Pacers.

Bryant could be great I don't know and his lack of head coach experience is a worry.

OH - Taylor Jenkins is another guy always liked how he had Memphis playing and using sometimes 10 deep rotation.

There's a lot I like about Jenkins but I don't know how he would do with this roster

he had a lot of athletes flying all over the place.

Well - he actually might push for us to get some athletes in here.

With the coaching change I would argue that no one is safe, but there isn't a ton of room to make trades to change personnel this season.

I kike your choices and order

I was also thinking about the post about exit interviews and wondering if maybe it wasn't Thibs interview but Bryant's. Maybe something stuck in Leon's mind form last season, like Bryant saying Thibs doesn't really listen to the assistants, then Thibs goes out and gets dinosaur Mo Cheeks. If so, then the idea of adding innovation to the team through the addition of an assistant takes a hit, i.e., if Bryan reinforced the idea that Thibs is simply set in his ways

Danny Hurley!!! Perhaps he regrets not taking lakers job but being an east coast guy might be the draw?
Handing him the keys to this roster in this time is interesting. With Lakers the expectations would not be like this.
I don't love retreads but I respect Vogel, Bud and Malone and if thats where Leon wants to go I'd cool with it.

Riles had just extended Spo about a year ago, so I doubt it. And then we would have to do the compensation thing

Shouldn't we assume The Greek gave approval on Bud being fired by Bucks?

Of course we must all think that Leon has his man already and has had discussions.

He wouldn't be so dumb to fire Thibs and then start inquiring if people are interested what they'd do etc.

If so one would have to imagine he has been talking to unemployed people

Keeping Thibs would have been the easy route and allowed him to keep a scapegoat in his back pocket if things didn’t go well. He’s truly going for it and putting his neck on the line.

When you frame it this way, something significant happened to make Leon move like this? Feels like it.

I mean it kind of seems like the news about Johnny Bryant being a finalist seems to have sped this up. But it could just be that time of year where teams are hiring coaches before the draft and Knicks wanted to get this done quickly.

Or it's just end of season timing (coincidence) - I have no idea but as discussed J Bryant does seem more myth than championship coach.

Neither is Todd, so the world makes sense now.

Leon is an overrated stupid c***.

If I could go back in time and revise history, I would make Julius and JB co-captains, use our stockpile of picks to find a decent starting center, and trade the ever-loving **** out of Mitch Robinson.

We’re back to being a ****-show boys. We had a few good years though.

In my mind I'm picturing Leon & Gershon screaming at Thibs (like me) to get Josh Hart the **** off the floor.

I like your possible dialogue from Johnnie Bryant. It matches the eye test. I think the talent on this team can out perform 51 wins.

Pretty sure you are also right that Leon Rose already has his person in mind. I kind of like an underdog. Only way to improve this team is through development. Can't really make trades.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Ok if I call you Nalod, again?

Thibs was a "retread" by some measure.

I advocated for Vogel way back when post Indy days, pre- Magic but am over him. DOn't think he'd be a good fit in NYC

I think whoever gets the job is the one who gives Leon the best answer to the question "What do you do with KAT/Brunson"? That simple.

I live in Denver and there is truth there - he's an old school, hard headed, tough SOB.

Two things though in his favor....

- he got thru to Joker who got in GREAT shape & improved defensively after some tubby early years (something to think about with Kat)
- he allowed &/or forced Joker/Murray to run 2 man game over and over and over (something we totally negated with Jalen/Kat this year)

Wouldn't be my first choice.

If we're choosing between the guys that have won a title I'd take Malone over Bud based on his work with Joker.

I'd probably go reverse based on Bud's analytical approach.

The return of Grumpy Todd. I'll take the grumpiness if he also brings the jokes (forum's best)

Thought that was more about Bud's head being in the wrong place after losing his brother. Giannis seemed to be cool with Bud.
