I would guess its more than linsanity when dealing with purely stuff in America and since the WNBA is WAY less popular overall than the NBA so the impact would be felt more. China has so many people that it would almost be unfair to compare that to CC.

This is all from the top of my head but her average attendance is double every other WNBA teams combined average attendance. Her games total attendance was 33% of the overall attendance in the WNBA this season. That is 1 persons team vs 11 other teams. She has broken viewership records on every channel she's played on going back like 20 years. To give a full story on the growth the WNBA was growing yearly. Slow as hell but constant growth. This rookie class gave added an almost exponentual growth. All the rookies deserve some credit. However CC is so far away the main reason you can't lump her in with the rest.

Luckily I bookmarked some of this stuff.

The last one is a long tweet but very informative. So I will paste it here so its easy to read.

The WNBA has released a report saying...

• Attendance is up 156% from last year, and more than half of all WNBA games this year have been sellouts.

• About 400,000 fans have attended WNBA games this season, filling WNBA arenas to 94% capacity.

• This year's televised games (ABC, ESPN, etc.) are averaging 1.32 million viewers, nearly triple last season's average of 462,000.

• WNBA Countdown is averaging 741,000 viewers, a 211% increase from last year's full season average.

• The WNBA's online merchandise store has already set a single-season sales record (with 4+ months left in the season), and sales are up 756% compared to last year.

• The WNBA's social channels garnered 157 million video views through the first week of the season, an all-time high and up 380% compared to last year.

• The WNBA set an all-time high for League Pass subscriptions last month with a 355% increase vs. last season.

So, in simple terms, business is booming

I will say some are slighty off but as a professional you have to adjust to it and make that catch. If you can only catch absolute perfectly placed passes you are not very useful.

Is this prevalent throughout the league or does her team just suck?

To be honest its a skill/talent level issue. This is just my opinion, but I think the WNBA has a problem with too much talent being stacked on a few teams and the other teams are just trash overall. The Liberty, The Sun, The Lynx, The Storm and the Aces all look like normal professional teams and are packed with talented players that don't miss too many layups or passes.

The rest of the WNBA teams have a few good players but are really bad overall. Like 4 teams are Pistons level bad. Sadly the Fever is one of them. The Fever have not beat a team over .500 in 2 seasons. they will look good vs other bad teams and that is mostly because of CC. With how much CC gets doubled the other players pretty much have a 4 on 3 for the majority of the game and they still can't take advantage of it. The fever starting SF is averaging 5pts a game and shooting 38%FG 28%3pt.

If you go by social media you would think CC is struggling as a rookie. She is having an All-WNBA season. That is 2 players from Team USA(1 the reigning MVP) and a rookie.

This is why I said CC was having an All-WNBA season 2 posts above. Everyone with the stats she is averaging has made the All-WNBA team.

I have to give it up to the other players. They really stepped up in the 2nd half. They were really taking advantage of CC being overplayed. That is all I ask. If the other team is going to give you an advantage make sure you capitalize on it.

I forgot to add all the Vets for the Mercury gave CC the warmest welcome by far. Both teams were constantly fighting during the game but before and after it they all showed love. That was nice to see.

Good things happen when they catch passes and make the open layup.

This is why I said if Angel can hit her layups at a higher percentage she could be a star. Her team gets her so many layups she would average 20 if she did not shoot so poorly on them. It would hurt her rebounds since a lot of them are from her own missed laups like you see here but she would score so much.

This guy perfectly explains why I ended up liking CC more than Angel and how Angel fans can be just as toxic as the extreme CC fans and the fact that they are like 90% black women. I have never seen so many black racist people until this CC vs Angel thing.

Angel Reese might end up being named ROY, the young woman can ball. At the same time, I think CC is in her head, and should be paying rent.

This has to be the smartest thing to come out of the Gilbert Arenas Podcast. Also a WNBA player saying CC is at the top of the scouting report. We could tell by how every team defends her but it's nice to get confirmation.

As I am learning more about the WNBA apparently they have a weird draft system where they take your record from the last 2 seasons. They give you draft odds from your overall record over the 3 years. It is how the Aces turned into the team they are today. They got #1 picks in a row and they drafted their core. 1st was Plum, 2nd was A'ja and the last was Jackie Young. All three are great players.

Reese with an amazing game. I told you her numbers were good before but once she start hitting layups at a decent rate she going to really be a start. She hit 2 3's tonight also.

Linsanity lasted a month and then Carmelo came back from injury. This is permanent and she’s a goldmine for the WNBA.

That league needs to start looking at heavy duty suspensions and fines for these jealous haters who are hard fouling her

The good thing is it already stopped. After all the Drama with the blindside its been nothing but basketball. There was way to many eyes on her for them to get away with stuff like that. After her interview where she wished vets would give her advice the vets been super nice to her. So its all good now.
