Man RJ and Randle and Brunson get beat up with zero calls

Didn’t watch the game just stats this time. And I’m surprised nobody talked about the inefficiency of the big 3 on offense. I know we don’t get any calls, but All 3 took a lot of shots and was not efficient with their attempts. Meanwhile grimes and Obi shot well but only a few attempts. Deuce only 6 mins. Might as well sit deuce next to cam. 6 mins is not a lot. Thibs is a vet and he should be able to figure this out.

I don’t think we win too many games if all 3 are having inefficient shooting day. Since they are all volume shooters and consuming the most mins and lack the lockdown defense you see in deuce and grimes. Then all 3 cannot have inefficient shooting all at the same time. That’s an guaranteed loss.

On top of that, if JB is taking all those shots, then who’s passing the ball? My biggest fear is JB might be a better scorer than floor general than a past first PG. We have several players that could use a pass first PG. And several gunners (JB, RJ, Jules, Grimes). Non of these guys are shy. But I would like to see JB pass more early in the game and grimes to shoot more. Then JB can take over in crunch time.

I’m sure JB, thibs and JBs Dad will figure out the balance this team needs from Brunson. These guys also need to get in shape if Thibs continues to ride his starters and play his bench less. Just not sure how you get in shape during the season. That’s an off season regimen. We’ll see how JB and others look come the 4th quarter of our next game. Just feels like this starting 5 can’t handle the mins they are given without impacting their crunch time performance. Sure other coaches are doing this (Toronto for example is one team similar to thibs high min usage rate and they have a losing record). So not sure that’s a good sign.

We’ll see how they adjust next game.

Yes, we lost because JR and JB did not shoot efficiently. Had bad games. Looked tired in fourth.
Happens in back to backs.
As I mentioned to you on another thread, we have a lack of second unit problem. If you cannot see that Deuce is not what we need, you are not looking close enough. Especially in a game with taller
athletic lineups like the Raptors have.
Obi is also too one dimensional. Besides transition and occasional three, he does not impact the game in other ways. Okay waiting to see if they both progress but if we are talking how we can win more games now, we need to upgrade the second unit.

In regards to JB, have said it since we signed him, my only issue with him is that I watched a lot of Mavs games and he is a shoot first PG. But I knew that, did not expect it to drastically change and have enjoyed watching the positives of his game. Feel he will improve his distribution and floor general side in coming years.

I am hoping we do something at the trade deadline. Right now we have Hart, IQ and Obi that are decent second unit guys but have EF, Rose and Cam that are obviously not going to be used by Thibs.
Need to turn those three into usable good assets.

JB was shooting well but faded down the stretch. Two things happened - the Raptors were allowed to foul freely and we were playing the 2nd of back to back. Guys got worn down. RJ was the only player who was a bit more rested.

Guys gotta make those FTs in the last min. How many games have lost this year because we didnt make those late game FT? When you are a defense oriented team you gotta make those late FTs to close out.

HOF……it’s a waste of time to discuss our second unit. Under this same coach, our second unit was deep. Now it’s depleted.

#1. Why and how did the second unit fall so hard while being coached by thibs.
#2. It doesn’t matter what you or I believe what the 2nd unit should be.

Thibs moves to his own beat regarding who he plays and don’t play. If he can remove his grandson, he will reject anybody we we had. I thought I knew what a thibs type player looks like but I was wrong (ex. Cam).

Yes deuce gives us zero on offense. But he’s still the best PG or Guard defender on the team. And depending on the coach, he can be used on special occasions. But the day thibs gave deuce 40 mins I’m like no, that’s not how you use him. Then recently he got 6 mins. So I’m done trying to figure this guy out.

I heard one fan on the radio say thibs is either real dumb or the wrong coach. I’m just going to sit back and watch. Thibs is a SME at coaching and he knows more than me. So I’ll keep a close eye on him and the team moving forward.

But sure we could always use more talent. Just need thibs type of talent and Thibs approval. As long as it gets us more Ws I’m good.

Just to clarify are you saying it makes sense to match the coach and roster? You may be onto something....

Fish………Bullock is a thibs type player. He will play him until he farts in practice then it’s back to the bench 😂.

But I’ve been a bullock fan for a while and he seems to lost his mojo or impact. Maybe thibs and Jules can revive his confidence and career.

Coaching staff need to teach RJ to flop like a little bitch...

He should have fallen to the ground crying like his shoulder had just separated.
