Is Luka establishing that he has next?

I wish I was watching the game, just looking at the box scores

Now that Dallas has some serious intimidation in the frontcourt with McGee and Wood, they have become downright scary.

I have no dislike for the Mavericks but we own their top ten protected pick. Let them collapse and we get pick 11.

Knicks are probably trade that pick… no way are they bringing two rookies onto this team.

Maybe, but it's still better to have the better assets for a trade

And they can swap pick with Lakers this year, and own the pick next.
We laughed at Griffin as a **** head. Dude has them lined up for a 10 year run if things fall into place.
Things can turn around quickly.

Griffin is a crap head. He just got “lucky” on the Zion draft, plus they got a really good haul from the Lakers that were desperate to get a championship to legitimize Jeannie Buss as the Heir to Jerry Buss. They flipped those assets to to get McCollum cheap.

Meanwhile the Knicks have had to work harder and sacrifice more to do anything because they aren’t lucky nor did they maximize a trade. Also I would say their moves were Craphead moves last summer, but they paid to get out of it. They tried to flip assets to get Mitchell and we saw Ainge try to rob them. They still have assets though so maybe they will hit on the next one.

Year ago Nola was reeling off losses to start season, Fat Zion was “few weeks away” and Griffin was flat out lying his ass off. Of course he drafts Zion. No brainer.
Griffin was seen as on his way to being fired. With what they got an pick potential still coming they are in a good situation. “Luck”? Well maybe but isn’t that followed by “Bad luck”? The dude that did not try to keep Lonzo?
The dude that took Ingram after he sat a year with blood disorder. Zion is far from out of the woods and its ownership that signs off on that check, and its just a few games in. Nothing is set.
My point is how a franchise can turn its trajectory in a short time when opportunities are still available.

Oh, if you have the assets to pay out way out of a mistake is that not a good thing? Forethought? Planning? To do so and still have options is a good thing.

Like did we really break the bank to get Cam an audition? We got Brunson and had to pay to get out of it. We still had enough to get DM, but choose not to.

Zion still shaking off the rust, but all of his points have been 10 feet and in. His athleticism looks good but he's missing a lot of chippies at the rim. Utah has just enough talent to not be able to do a proper tank.

Utah 3-0
Okc is playing a true 14 man rotation. Rule should be implemented about non competition status.

I knew it. Randle's son was in charge of guard rotations last year

Lauri Markonnen starting off hot. Can he singlehandedly stop the Utah tank.

Ofcourse KD would think so. He’s used to playing in small western conference markets where the city barely knows it has a nba team

he been on three teams. OKC, were he defied the norm and became a global brand. Then Three years in San Fransisco. That a small Market? Also three trips to finals.

“Cool”? Its not working out for him but I get why he did it. The potential. 2nd franchise in the biggest market and with knicks down, as they were when he was a Free Agent, Nets had a window to take the city who was ripe with a whole generation of fans who only know Knick misery.
Covid and Kyrie killed the dream. Covid and Harden apathy killed the dream. Durant commited. He is not happy he did but fact is he extended his deal.

Defense matters and Simmons has yet to shake the rust. Kyrie from what I have read has his sights on Lakerland.
Seems Nets might be able to get some value out of Kyrie. I don’t know how Suns can get Durant and not break up its team. It lacks depth as it is currently constructed. I’d think Ayton, Crowder and a third teams first round pick (Lands say 8-12th) might work. Stay respectable and build off that.

As for Kyrie, if they can get Lakers 1st round pick down the road that might mitigate the pain of future.
I don’t know how they get there.
