RJ's transformation has been awesome. He's figured it out. We've taken the next step from a hot 6 or 7 game stretch and thinking about "what could be". IQ has been great too. I'd been adamant about keeping him at SG, said that he was over thinking on offense and it's been messing with his shot. *click* Light goes on and he's looking pretty good at PG now...he's not forcing sets, second guessing when to take a shot. Game looking easier to him, and go figure, shots start falling in the process. Even when he was struggling shooting, his D has been steady (and the rebounding!!!). Glad to be wrong!!!

Add in Mitch (pay the man!) and a steady year 1 from Grimes, and we've got 3.5 pieces I think we can safely call a core. I still like our prospects with Obi/Deuce/Sims/Cam. Hoping at least 2 out of that group pan out as hoped.

As an aside - nice to see Alec getting back on track. We've had more than a few games where he's been our best player. Fun to watch him when he's rolling. I hope that clutch gene can be passed on. I still see his future as mid-season trade fodder, especially as an expiring next year, but let's pump that value either way!

Pure conjecture but I think something has changed in the locker room. Last game against Det, Randle was standing under the basket waiting for the ball to drop for the rebound soo he could walk it up and play PG. Burks comes out of nowhere, snatches the ball from Randle who had not completely secured it yet and ran up the court with it. I am no lip reader but I swear Burks said ‘ f@ck that a&&hole to IQ when he got across half court. I think Burks has taken the leadership role from Randle and IQ is also stepping up as a leader. Just my dos centavos, but something has changed.

I've said it before, I'm happy to keep both Burks and Noel (if healthy). You need some steady vets for leadership and both players play their roles well.
I want no part of EF staying on this squad. His shooting is replaceable with better defense from both IQ and Grimes. The big question in my mind is what happens with Randle. I really would love to get in his head because of the huge discrepancy between last year's attitude and this year's. I think the FO's decision on how to navigate this problem will determine the trajectory of this team for the next 3 years.

He was like this since he got put in for Obi, in the 4th.

I don’t think he was grumpy because of that though. I think he’s mad because he doesn’t feel like the team needs him to be the man. He’s played like trash lots of times while not being in this mood.

Basically his ego is bruised and he is pouting. Awwww does Baby Wandle feel weally sad because he’s not number one? Awwwwwww.

Mitch is a force. Alters a lot of shots. He is a great rebounder both offensive and defensive. He is a keeper.

Burks is a very good instinctive player. I think he has low bball IQ but I like the way he plays. Underrated defender.

IQ is going to be a problem for other teams. He is learning to setup his teammates. A little surprised that he missed a couple of free throws.

Duece is a very good defender that takes shots when is there. Doesn't force anything.

Obi is fun to watch. Very charismatic. People say Amar'e 2.0 ... I see it a little but he kinda reminds me of Larry Nance. He kinda floats. His defense is also not bad anymore.

Randle is horrible. Horrible teammate. Horrible defender. Shot is suspect at best. He doesn't want to be here. He slows everything down. Hee gets the rebound and ****ing walks it down. Randle and Burks are running waiting for the pass ahead that never comes.

If it really is bruised ego stuff I mean oh well. Randle may think himself a Kobe/Ewing type of player who doesnt sit and if he's having a bad shooting night plays through that, but coach sat him in a 1-9 shooting night, end of the season when we are pretty much eliminated and he's playing hurt(ish). Not sure I buy that.

Do we know he was pissed? I mean he coulda been miserable from playing on a bum quad and shooting 1-9 and just wanted this day at the office to end.

You knew those "We Want Obi" chants were going to get to him. It's not the first time he's gotten pissed at Obi or RJ chants. Can't share the limelight.

I don't trust that rumor (it's probably just someone watching the body language and taking it one step further) - but the fact that it's believable in the first place is pretty ****ty.

he and RJ take the most shots (by alot) and are literally the two least EFF% guys on the roster. Its not gonna be a good look for a analytics

If Randle is imploding this is NOT how I want to see it.. would be nice to rehab him and get value but whatever

I think Randle just has mood swings. Most of the time he’s fine as a locker room guy but he can be a little cancerous when things aren’t going well and he’s frustrated

Everyone in MSG was just ragging on Randle last night. One section was chanting "Obi Toppin" another section chanting "We want Obi". When Obi got up from the bench and to the scorers table the place started cheering. I looked at Randle and that dude was hurt. Like someone ran over his dog hurt. Dude is not built for NY.

I got there early to watch them warmup. I saw Rose practicing and Randle shooting by himself. Rose was with his kid and I guess he/they hired 4 guys to warm him up. They were running PnR plays and defending Rose. It was pretty impressive to me that he/they hired basketball players to just warm him up.

Randle did not warm up with any of this teammates. When they were being introduced out of the tunnel, he wasn't with the team. They came out and I didn't see him. I could be wrong and maybe I just missed him. However, he emerged a few minutes later and joined the team. Weird.
