![]() martin wrote:and what way is that?Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: Its funny because the biggest knock on the Thibs hire was our roster was not good for a "win now" coach, when in reality its a perfect roster. I thought RJ was a great fit in the Jimmy Butler/Deng type of swiss army wing. As for the other guys its wait and see but we already know Randle has earned his trust and he's got a straight up infatuation with IQ and Mitch. He made Mitch earn his spot over Noel the strides Mitch has taken early on are as big a reason for the success as anything. How to win a locker room 101: What I really like is the FO and coaching were all clearly on the same page when they brought these guys in. Likely why Thibs didnt need Rivers to earn it in practice. He was there when they signed him, they talked BB and coach knew what to expect when he played Rivers and Rivers knew what coach wanted. "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

It’s Thibs’ way or the highway. If you’re going to play, you’re going to play his way. His way just means hard. He’s not forcing us to not take shots or you can’t do this. Thibs is just about effort and knowing your role. So every day you do that, you end up buying into a team concept. Then it becomes fun when you see a little bit of success. Ok, this works.” "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

It's noticeable and the later half of the video shows it well. There is a HUGE difference just from Preseason to game #8 for Mitch and the way he plays. It's a damn shame he doesn't yet have an offseason regiment Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

![]() I was skeptical of Thibs more so due to his age given the roster we had and estimated yrs away from competing. But dude looks like he’s 40. He has been such a good hire!
Mitch played 42mins the other day and had 2 fouls. He’s getting him right! 2 first round draft picks coming up, cap flexibility, Thibs having us look respectable. We’re in for a long over due ride. Maybe we don’t land a superstar, but maybe we could just be a deep team like the Pacers seem to always be and just compete. https://vote.nba.com/en Vote for your Knicks.

Don't ever underestimate a dream job mixed with pure passion and high level skill, it's a positively toxic mix and the Knicks should be thankful. Thibs should thank Leon & company for forcing him to add all of the assistant coaches that they have instead of just bringing back his old crew (if that was the case) Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

![]() Thibs is very detailed oriented. How many time did we see the opposition drive and kick, and the second swing pass, Knick players stand still, confused and pointing at each other because they weren't sure who's responsibility it was to contest the shot? Thibs has taught them how to X-cut so that each player understands their responsibility.
It was evident from the first game that Thibs was defending inside-out...protect the paint first. We are doing a good job of scrambling and recovering to the 3 point shooters but we do give up quite a few open looks. 29% is the number the opposition is shooting from 3. I do expect those numbers to go up, just a bit. |

![]() Halfway ish is always a good time to look at how things are shaping
Nothing antiquated about him or his system Wayne Ellington wrote:"It starts with the work," said Pistons guard Wayne Ellington, who was with the Knicks last season when they went 21-45. "Those guys, I was in New York last year, and I was talking to Julius before the game, and he was like, ‘Man, it’s completely different.’ it’s night and day. Just our approach, our mindset coming in, how Thibs has those guys working and how he has them competing on the floor. It’s a process. They have a lot of the same guys that they did have last year. Those young guys have taken a step forward and they’re learning how to play and how to win. And it’s showing." am I missing anything? "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

![]() Crazy, if anyone had said we'd be over the .500 mark this far into the season, at the 4th playoff spot in the east and Randle would be an Allstar and we'd all be praising him, they would have been laughed off the board!

![]() Hands down COY if we keep close to winning record by end of season. No other coach could pull off what he has done with this team and that isn’t an exaggeration. He’s put players in positions to succeed and they are reaping the benefits. Can you imagine if we remain the 4-5 seed with 40-60+ mm in cap space and 2 draft picks in a pretty decent draft? What other team has that kind of flexibility combined with winning pedigree? No one.

Literally everything we have been begging for. Dont sign stupid contracts, use the draft, sell when you should be selling. We used the draft. Not all great. We whiffed horribly on guys like Donovan and SGA, but we got some players. Then of course it brings us back to Thibs who's been brought here and given everything he needs to do anything he wants to and just wow, look at the results. Now do people understand why this guy was given the whole head coach/president/gm thing? "Whatever you want Thibs..." Obviously that is not case HERE. The exact opposite. Feels like Thibs has been given everything he needs to be the best coach in the league, and let me tell you, weak east bla bla bla... The guy who took Fizdale's trash and turned it into this is 100% the best coach in this league right now. Best D in the league. 4th seed in the east. Up and coming rotation players like RJ/Mitch/IQ/Obi and FRAAAAAANNNNNNNK all playing roles. Cast off Julius a legit all star and growing himself! We have extra draft capital. If we make no big deals and just have another good draft and bring a couple guys back (depending on draft I like Bullock and Noel as depth guys for cheap) we are in a great spot! kumbaya mofos! Go Knicks! "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs
