Trier and Morris i'm guessing.

I was thinking Trier and Portis.

Me too.

I'd have guess its not Frank. Knox looks like a shy teenager still and appears polite. Barrett still too green. I can see Fiz feeling "Betrayed" by Triers lack of intensity on defense and lashing out at him, and thus Trier's defiance kicking in. I don't know. Portis looks like shyt shooting like he got it like that and his minute getting cut. Fiz under pressure, or any coach for that matter is going to handle things.
Randle to me is not the issue, he is a symptom of the inconsistent guard play and lack of shooters.

I don't think Fizz did himself any favors saying the team didn't think it could beat the Bucks before tip off. I can imagine many players feeling like they were thrown under the bus

Trier was last year's coaches pet, and no he's at the end of the bench. He is definitely the young guy. Portis likes to punch teammates.

I wouldn't say crazy eyes likes to punch teammates. From reports, it sounds like Mitotic confronted him told him to chill. I will say Portia doesn't like to back away from confrontations.

fair enough. While i imagine Morris is the most likely to punch an opponent i for some reason think he's the least likely to chest bump the coach -- especially since Fizz let him do whatever he wanted

He isn't a big name hired for star appeal or relationships he has around the league. He was just hired because of his coaching ability. The Knicks haven't done something like this since JVG. I have no idea if Miller is a good coach but getting the interim job isn't business as usual for the Knicks.

exactly!!

I'm actually kind of excited about him. And in the back of my mind, I think Mills may have planted him there having doubts about Fizz and that was the basis for all of those "wheels in motion" comments after Mills and Perry had that dumb press conference after 10 games

from day 1 i didn't like the Fizz hire because i thought he was a windbag. I wanted Bud. And for full disclosure I am no coach-pick savant because i also wanted Vogel (who flamed out in Orlando)

We think alike. The FO isn't as dumb as its made out to be. Miller was the backup plan all along and a good one. I think Miller knows he's on a short leash to be retained and will do whatever he needs to to show he's the right guy.

I think he'll turn this thing around to respectability.

Fizz is a windbag. No redeeming grace concerning coaching an NBA team. None. Missing out on Bud is a sin.

It didn't seem to affect the other teams.

The Knicks chose to play the fewest preseason games allowed.

Does that mean cool that Fiz got more practice time in? Or woa-is-me that poor Fiz didn’t get game action for his squad?

He had a season long training camp last year. Didn't seem to help last year's guys.

Team has not looked mentally tough, nevermind 3pt D. Last game, they looked sharp for a quarter, then one turnover led to many. Not just Xs and Os. If Miller can help keep them focused for 4 quarters, that will be a big step in the right direction.

Good luck with that one. We have too many mentally weak and emotionally fragile team full of backup forwards. The real change will come when the roster is turned over again, after these 1 yr contracts expire.

Agreed

Disagree. Would not call our forwards mentally weak as individual players. Collectively, yes. Believe the reason for that distinction, is the team is effectively rudderless. Didnt see the leadership from Fizdale, didnt see enough of it at the point. Its been a weird season with our PGs.

Definitely some improvment from Frank and Dennis, not enough to lead the team with their play. Morris and Randle arent used to being called upon to lead, more a lack of experience than weakness.

If Perry made one noticeable mistake, it was signing both Randle and Morris. Believe its messing with the chemistry. The more games I see, the more I hope Morris sticks around. If Miller can get the PGs to effectively run the team, settle things down. Believe the team will start playing with more focus, wont fall apart from the pressure, as a team. My hope anyway.

Morris was a very late signing and a useful player for todays nba. Randle is a questionable fit with Mitch. The Knicks need to start putting complimentry pieces around what we have. Something that was not done this offseason. I wish we would of got a real PG in here last off-season. I really think a competent PG would fix many of the issues this team has. Frank has improved but I dont believe he will ever bring enough offense to be a lead guard. I also believe he is going to walk the first chance he gets and he should. Knicks need to walk away from this draft with Lamelo Ball. His court vision and passing ability is unmatched

Good point about Morris being a late signing. Wish he had been signed him first, not Randle. Smith jr hasnt panned out this season, for reasons on and off the court. Believe Payton was insurance. When Payton was out, and Smith jr had to deal with a big off the court issue, things fell apart.

I do see a sense if urgency in the way Frank and Dennis are playing now. If Miller can give this team the structure, we didnt see with Fizdale, the season might be salvageable. Hope we see another JVG situation with Miller.

I think Breen brought it up early in the year as a reason why the team was struggling. It was a choice they made.

I think it's Trier for the youngin. That's too easy to guess. Well...maybe it's also DSJr. The vet I think it's Morris. He leaked info on the status of the team prior to the Bucks game which wasn't very good.
