Lopez + dwill for #3 + Amir Johnson?

Dwill is out of the picture, you don't just swap a recently signed guy.
But I don'T think they would want to trade Lopez, he is very very good. And for FA's looking here, how does that look? Unless a center of course!

It only make sense if they want Melo or Love and Melo wont to go to them or Clev

Yeah, because Melo turned down the opportunity to play in LA or win in Chicago or Houston because he's actually been dying to go to Boston. Or Cleveland. Great for the brand.

Yes, I agree that this is unlikely.
Melo will play this 3 years in NY.
Chip or no chip he will have his brand served the best in NY.
And he may actually end up on good team for a change in his last year or 2.
Him going is a quick fix... and quick fixes as we all now are not happening in NY.

Agree he will stay. Don't agree about the brand comment. This is not the 80's when there were only a few big market city's in which to build a brand. That is no longer the case. And due to state income tax, its actually hurts to be in NY if all you want to do is build a brand. Funny how we complain no one wants to come here but we knock the only All Star that does?

Do you know any NBA star who get more money in contracts and endorsements that Melo get in last 5 years combined in NY?
I think it is only one called Kobe... So do not underestimate Melo brilliance as businessman and entertainer.
He knows were the money are - in Manhattan.

According to this list he isn't top 5. Kobe is the only guy in a traditional big market city. http://www.cheatsheet.com/sports/5-nba-players-earning-the-most-money-from-endorsements-in-2016.html/?a=viewall

So then tell me again why he forced his way here?
He's greedy and all about digital branding, but doesn't make as much as others in other small market cities.

I guess he sux at being a businessman too. Poor CAA, poor melo, poor knicks.

And I love how the PP is the greater clutch player argument dropped off the table.

It's mid-June and the NTC is still there guys!

Me too, especially the Knicks version. Melo and Dolan are at the bottom right of that picture.

Anthony is a nine-time All-Star with six All-NBA selections, a scoring title, and one-way ticket to the Hall of Fame. He’s one of the most gifted scorers in NBA history, as evidenced by his all-time ranking of No. 29 in career points scored.

Anthony is also No. 13 all-time in career scoring average at 24.94 points per game.

And the NTF thinks the new coach is great!

No lawsuits impacting this.

Just thought it needed a bump, since the same miscreants seem to be making the same noises again.

figured i'd look into this for briggs, since he wants to move melo to boston. and after careful checking... the no-trade clause is still in-tact. i know, i know, you made that whole thread briggs, it's a bummer for you.

Why not to keep it sticky for 2 and a half years more?

I believe Melo would be compensated an additional 10-12mm $ if he is traded by us? That is a LOT of chedda even to a multi millionaire. Does he have a chance to win with Thomas Crwoder Horford and their parts----yes. We wont win. And we wont win next year either--but Boston could have a 2-3 year window--so if you really want to win--you like more money--you only move a 30 minute plane ride away--whats wrong?

whats wrong is that melo has very clearly stated numerous times he does not want to leave. i mean he's only the one who had to choose to waive the clause, so i'd say that's a pretty big problem.

Riiiiiiiiiight, a 30 minute plane ride to another team in the East that has to try and take down LeQ and company. Makes perfect sense. Any unicorns in Boston?

To make unicorn spread his wings Melo should move his a..sss from the center to the side.
Otherwise it does not make any sense for sure.

So you are more concerned about one player shots versus the fate of the team?..I know there are lots in here who think like you..They aren't concerned about wins or the team..Puzzling..

Without strategic vision team cannot became elite.
You can win 5-10 games more now to get to first round and get bumped or sacrifice couple more seasons and build a contender.
Melo is not a part of strategic vision... he is fixture of the past.
He is not going anywhere but his role must be redefined for the better of the team.

No trade clause you say. . . Interesting. Maybe it only applies if Melo does less than 10 iso's per game and we were just never aware of that. That would have added an interesting wrinkle to the contract
