Gill was a great athlete (I believe he also tried boxing). However, he really did not have the ball-handling and passing skills. Mudiay is the big mystery. So much depends on how they view his workouts. Man - it would be interesting in Okafor or Russell somehow fell. I read somewhere the Winslow actually measured in a 6'4". If so, then he's strictly a 2-guard who may be able to play the 3 position in a small-ball lineup. That scares me because I'm not sold on his shooting. He was blowing by people in the NCAA but that was matched up against 4"s and in the open court. If Knicks play at a more structured pace, will he thrive offensively. Defense should not be a problem but picking him at #4 just for perimeter defense is questionable. WCS is intriguing, but picking him at #4 necessitates some key free agent moves to spruce up the offense. Likewise, trading down for someone like Kaminsky begs the need for complimentary shot-blocking and perimeter defense. Do Knicks have enough moxie and front office acumen to pull it off????

6/5: Quinn Cook ?

6/8: Justise Winslow

6/9: Emmanuel Mudiay

6/15 (week of): Cameron Payne

6/16: Willie Cauley-Stein

6/25: The Draft

Hmm, no Lyles or Kaminsky scheduled yet (that we know of). Also I find it odd how Stanley Johnson has fallen off the face of the earth- he's the only player that seemingly hasn't been linked to us. A month or two ago he was considered the best SF and was compared to MWP.

I said this same think like a week ago. What the heck happened to S.Johnson?? Like you just said he was talked about any time the top 5 was talked about like a month and a half ago.

Winslow measured in at 6'4" without shoes and 6'6".5 with shoes.

Winslow's in shoes measurement is a bit much. Most guys gain an inch but he's gaining 2.5 inches? That seems suspect. What kind of shoes and socks is he workin with? LOL.

You take your barefoot measurement and add one inch.

New insoles on top of old insoles.
heel lifts, to reduce the tension on your Achilles.
double socks, to add additional cushion.

That's my 2 inch trick....I can't explain the .5 inch

If I was doing the measurement I would've laughed and just said, "Come on Man... you can't be serious".

I think the measurement without shoes issue in regards to Winslow is overrated. Players don't play without shoes. If you go to daftexpress and compare drafted players from the past heights to their official heights as NBA players now on ESPN. What you will find is their heights as NBA players match their Draftexpres heights from them wearing shoes.

Winslow will be measured at 6'6 in the NBA which is great size for a SG and respectable size for a SF. Also on top of that a player's height usually doesn't matter compared to their wingspan usually and Winslow has good measurements there as well.

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

I understand all of that. I just found it hilarious and not very believable that he could go from 6-4 to 6-6.5 like that. His socks and sneakers must be super thick cuz that's not normal for most NBA players to gain that much height putting on their sneakers. At most he should be 6-5 may 6-5.5. It's a small matter but I just found it funny.

The workout process is well underway. It's making me happy that there could be more than one player taken by the Knicks this year.

Adam Zagoria, SNY.TV

Former Kentucky point guard Andrew Harrison was part of a four-man workout with the Knicks on Friday.

The 6-foot-6 Harrison joined Duke’s Quinn Cook, Dayton’s Jordan Sibert and Gonzaga’s Kevin Pangos in a
workout in front of President Phil Jackson, assistant GM Allan Houston and head coach Derek Fisher, among others.

“He did well,” Cook told SNY.tv on Monday of Harrison. “He’s very big guard, he’s strong, but he did well.”

Harrison improved his draft stock at last month’s NBA Draft Combine in Chicago and is now projected at No. 32 by DraftExpress.com.

The Knicks are said to be looking to add a second-round pick in addition to the No. 4 pick they currently own.

“It’s his size and his ability to get to the rim,” DraftExpress analyst Jonathan Givony told the Herald-Leader. “He’s really shown that he’s not a combo guard. He’s really a point guard. He can make the right plays. And at 6-6, he can guard a lot of different people.

“Question marks about his offense — obviously those are still there.”

Some also question Harrison’s ability to defend NBA point guards.

“Andrew has size for position, he’s a big strong point guard,” one NBA scout told SNY.tv. “I think he’s a backup point guard in our league.

“He can be drafted anywhere from 31-50.”

In a funny twist, Andrew Harrison stepped in to replace his brother Aaron in Monday’s workout with the Charlotte Hornets.

Hell no to Harrison. Bad decision maker, and indeed a very questionable defender.

Phil loves big PG's. They aren't always the best shooting players nor PG's. He usually liked them for versatility and defense. Harper and Brian Shaw come to mind. We see he brought in Shved and I think it's just part of his overall plan that he has big guards. He also like Forwards with PG like skills as he had with Kukoc and Odom. Phil definitely has his types and will look for those kinds of players even if the aren't very sexy options.

So we're considering Payne and also some second round PGs- seems to indicate that Calderon is on his way out
