WCS like any young player has to fully mature and learn what it takes to excel at the NBA level. I think his focus will be helped by the speed of the game and the role he'll have if he comes to the Knicks. He'll be a very active part of the offense like all of our bigs were. It's the beauty of the Triangle and why Phil uses it. Our bigs touch the ball a lot. Even the guys who previously never handled the ball. They have to make basic passes and movement in the flow of the offense and that keeps all the players mental involved. There really is no floating and falling asleep in this offense. At any moment you can be a passing target.

I really like Winslow but I feel we already have wings and we also have the ability to sign a wing in FA. The one spot that we have a gaping hole is at the Rim Protecting Center spot. I feel WCS would upgrade our center spot and that his athletic ability would upgrade our overall team defense. I just feel his game would impact the team to a greater degree than any other player likely to be left on the board. Winslow is really a nice prospect but he's not really going to have the impact that adding WCS would have.

Mudiay is a player with a lot of upside, but will he actually realize that upside and how would his talent be impacted by playing in the Triangle? If Mudiay really shines in Workouts I could see Phil making that pick, because he does have a ton of upside and if he's looking like he could realize that upside i'm sure Phil would work with Fish to tweak the offense to make it more compatible with his talents. Mudiay is the pick if you're convinced he's likely to realize his great potential.
We saw how D'Angelo Russell surprised with his vertical at a workout. Maybe Mudiay shows a much improved jump shot and other skills.
