He knows hoops just not present day NBA hoops. He relies on so-called "expect" opinions which are sometimes jaded and misinformed. And most importantly his Garden contacts which he's proven he has.

But as for as his overall show and interviewing abilities they are second to none. I ofter find Kay's people listening to Francesa's show as they always talk about what went on in his show and blatantly copying Francesa's interview questions and topics.

Without Francesa the Michael Kay show would not exist. Not only did Mike pave the way but he provides them with their daily material, interviews questions and talking points.

I not a fan of Francesca or Kay. If Mike doesn't know about present-day hoops and only about hoops from 15-20 years ago, that's fine for a 30 for 30 documentary but as for today: save your breath.

You might be right but usually when Mike kisses someone's ass or deflects blame from someone who is killed in every other media outlet(See A-Rod) it is usually to boost his own show and ratings

Sounds like he's just a contrarian, and is running with recent back page opinions like those of Raismann to proclaim Phil a failure, to seem like he knows what he's talking about and spark call-ins.

As for Raismann, his "Guitar Jimmy" vendetta would be entertaining as a UK poster, but embarrassing as a big city journalist, or editorialist, or whatever he's supposed to be doing.

- Signing Melo to that contract seemed to me like a dubious decision to me at the time, and Phil's career here will continue to hang on that decision, whether good or bad.

- Phil's tweets were weird. I don't know what he was trying to call out the current Knicks on the court, or the former Knicks or what, but whatever he was doing fell flat in public. Hopefully they achieved whatever internal mystical motivational purpose intended.

Fair enough. I like Phil's tweets (just like I like Durants new 'telling it like it is' stance with the media)- I'd rather hear stuff from them than PR fluff or no comments. Mike is a horses and baseball guy mostly. The other areas just aren't his strong points. I don't much care for his input on basketball. Basketball might be the hardest sport to build a winner. Mike does give of an arrogant aura, that know it all mentality which actually rubs off on people.

I don't much like Mike criticizing Phil Jackson much, he is the guy who went to sleep on air does he forget that.
