This idea that the Knicks talent is significant deficient is crazy! This dude simply had no clue how to use this roster and failed to establish a base level to build a foundation of good BB on. They make poor decisions and have poor execution because Woody failed to set any clear vision of what he wanted them to do! It's flea by the low % shots taken. The lack of defensive chemistry. There are so many bad rotations and ZERO accountability for repeated mistakes and poor decisions.

It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing

Ryan Anderson, a 6-foot-10 swingman, scored 14 points in the third quarter, finishing with a game-high 31, as the Knicks again failed to make enough defensive plays.

Where is our 6'10 swingman?

Dire situation,

If woody is still here today he will be here all year. Time to roll up your sleeves

Defensive chemistry?

Cool.

Or could it be the lack of Tyson Chandler?

Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin are not scaring any NBA forwards inside. Kenyon can get .67 blocks per game but he is laterally slow. He scores 4 points per game, which means teams can leave him alone.

Which one of our reserve point guards is checking Tyreke Evans?

Yup- if he was going to be fired it would have happened last night. Obviously his loyalty to Dolan is over riding his job performance.

so we couldn't stop any of their perimeter players last night... and woodson thinks its a good idea to have Shump, our best perimeter defencer, on the bench ... why?

was it b/c Shump tried to hold Melo accountable on D?

or was it just b/c we are committed to JR sabotaging the franchise?

Dolan obviously struck a deal with JR to sign his brother and guarantee him starter minutes. I don't blame JR for being rusty after surgery, but why the heck play him 30 mins a game?! Play him 20 or less until he gets his game back

I'm actually not sure what you're blabbering on about when it comes to this roster. You really think it's valid to just say this team can't win games because of who we have on the roster? In terms of rotation players from last year, this team won 8 of ten games without Tyson and with KMart playing. We basically started Felton, Prigs, Shump, Melo and KMart. Now you want us to believe that it's IMPOSSIBLE for this team to play solid BB at the least and win some games? We're not even talking about playing great BB, just win the winnable games.

Let's face it, Woody is not doing this team any favors with his decision making. He didn't do the team any favors with how he chose to treat Training Camp either. Overall he didn't have a great plan for how the team was going to run it's offense and defense either. His use of the roster has been awful and you'd think that he would have a better handle on it, since most of his core players are still here.
The problem is that Woody had no idea why things worked so well last year and without that knowledge he simply can't repeat it!!!

When you have a core plan to how you want to play, it's not that hard to instill that in the players from year to year. You pretty much know how to teach it and get a basic level of proficiency out of your team. We don't see that because Woody doesn't seem to have a legit core philosophy on how he wants his team to play. His defense isn't that great without Tyson behind it and his offense seems to be less effective without Kidd behind it. It sounds rough, but what else are we to think about what is happened with this team?

What can Woodson do? Jeff Van Gundy's tenure was the last time Knicks made a Finals appearance. 1999 is also the year James Dolan became the head honcho according to Wikipedia. Don Chaney, Herb, Larry Brown, Herb, (Isiah), are Civics, Dolan is the jet engine.

And how good do the Knicks really need to be anyway, as long as the boss is happy? They are toys in a newly renovated dollhouse. They are to the Garden what the Rockettes are to Radio City. But at least the Rockettes work as a team.

Woodson is not effectively leading this team, so I wouldn't be sad to see him go. But the fish rots from the head.

The Answer Man Knows What's Happening

nixluva - what else are we to think about what is happened with this team?

A. Think about five reasons now and believe them later.

1. It's not simply about what happens with one team. You are missing the undeniable fact that this is not last season and the rest of the league, Pelicans included, has improved.

2. Money cant buy you a contender, unless you have a plan - or three stars. Buying love a la carte is never a good idea

3. We are over matched at the essential point guard position. There is not a single starting NBA guard that Raymond Felton rates higher than. That is trouble because the point guard is the coach on the floor. Mike Woodson can only put players in a position to succeed. He cannot execute with a suit on.

4. Once our heavy-handed owner fired Glen Grunwald, who hated being stuck with certified scrub Chris Smith, it sent shock waves through the entire franchise. The message was nothing positive.

5. We miss the leadership, likability and levity of Sheed.

I think Woodson's future might be tied Thursday's game against Brooklyn. Dolan's made it very clear through his actions and his recent interview that he has a huge chip on his shoulder regarding the Nets move to Brooklyn and especially about Prokhorov. I think if we win Woodson will be given a ton of leeway to work through our problems; if we lose he might not make through New Year's.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

If we got embarrassed on national television against them, Woodys done (my opinion).
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Well Pierce is out and Alan Anderson killed the Knicks every they played the raps last year. It should be interesting.
