Indeed. Love the 14 boards tonight.

+1

Melo is on a tear. Hopefully it continues into the playoffs. Unreal!

Yeah, that's the most important thing. I'm definitely gonna feel gypped if he struggles in the playoffs.

Hopefully they can get to the Pacers game healthy and then sit out the rest. Him, kidd, Chandler, and JR

Agreed. I'm a little worried about KMart, hope he's okay. Doesn't he have an abdominal strain in addition to the knee issue? I was inwardly attributing the sluggish first half to the fact that he wasn't there being active and providing the energy he does.

Over 5 games, Carmelo went for 28 and 8 rebounds (and 2 assists) during last years playoffs versus the eventual champions. He cannot beat any playoff team alone. He understands that.

Why do people fear he will play like Joe Johnson?

This year he has help. Earl Smith is the player we need to keep growing into his role as a star.

Jason Kidd is playing with fresh legs again. Note how Woodson is allowing him to finish games.

Answer-man it's simple...it's hate, not basketball acumen...

These Knicks are ROLLING, baby!

I'm lovin' every second of this, and want to see them maintain this momentum throughout the playoffs. NYK all the WAY!!!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Tap outs are such long distance. You need a good aim and its easier to judje by the player's aim or lack of aim , to determine control or not(to award rebounds or not). Right next to the rim they will probably almost never call a tapout, which would be needed to be the call, in order for Melo to get credit on the Reb.

Thanks! That makes sense.

how will you feel if Carmelo Anthony stays locked in and not smiling?

I care about his performance, not his smiling. You'd have to be more specific.

And beating the Thunder to get it would be the icing on the cake! I still can't believe the turnaround from the western road trip nightmare to this 11 game winning streak- just when it felt like hope was lost, the team regrouped and went on an absolute tear.

Liked our defense this game. I was surprised when I looked at the boxscore- I never really noticed JR getting his points. And the Pacers finally lost!

One thing thats been bugging me is that Melo has been hit in the face 4 or 5 times the last 3 games and not once has it been called a foul. His lack of calls compared to Harden or Durant is ridiculous.

This.
And he's also got 13 techs which could stem from both him getting pissed off for not getting any calls and/or just refs being *******s.
I'm really not liking the treatment Melo & The Knicks in general get from the refs more often than not, and this is only the regular season, if that bull**** continues throughout the playoffs then I'll probably lose it.

Im not saying the refs are completely against the Knicks, but they should go into the post season expecting to be on the receiving end of some bad calls.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

The Knicks and Melo in general do seem to be able to play thru bad calls and non calls. The thing that has me excited is that DEFENSE. IF this team continues to defend like this, then we really are going to be a serious deep playoff threat. That's the one thing that separates us from past teams.

Woody seems to have settled into a nice groove with how he's using his players. This is key to any coach being successful. He's got a great handle on his rotations now. HE knows who he can trust in certain situations.

Mike woodson made it clear from day one that he preferred veterans. The so-called "he has a handle on his rotations now" nonsense is just that, nonsense.... condesceding nonsense at that.

Woodson is getting the most out of the healthy shrimps he has available, with effort, ego management and proper encouragement. He employs the thoughtful strategy of understanding personalities, putting his men in a position to succeed and rationing minutes so that even Jason Kidd looks fresher these days.

What he said

“I have zero ego as a coach, none. If you think you see something that’s going to work better than what we’re trying to do, speak up! Say something to me! But what I’m telling you guys is that if you guys will just consistently do what we’re asking you to do on defense, we’ll win games. I don’t give a **** about the offense; you guys can score more than enough points to win games. The offense isn’t the problem. But you have to get stops on defense, and if you’ll listen to what we’re telling you, I promise you’ll get stops. The **** works, okay?”
